Not sure. I coached against them two or three times a year for 3 years, but never got into their history. They had an unusual run, and supposedly one of their best players drowned the previous summer. That kind of talent doesn't come to a small school very often.
I loved the book on Ryan. Another book that you should read if you haven’t is Show-me Kings. Great book about Southeast Missouri high school basketball.
Another good read is a book entitled, "Bradleyville Basketball, The Hicks from the Sticks" by Leon Combs.

It is still my opinion there is a special "tier" of teams at the top who are elite and could compete well in C2...they are the top 6 teams on here (so good job, maxpreps) Dora, South Iron, Eminence, Jefferson, and maybe Winston sneak in there. I think there is a distinct difference with the teams below that.

D4 Runner up last year (and in title game last three years) Walnut Grove loses in opening round to Fair Play...Coach Meinders is moving on to College basketball as well...We shall see if the "5 out, take em" offense translates to the college level as well as the 3 point or layup barrage and the half court zone defense.
Halfway/Fair Play semifinal should be a great game
D6: Lakeland only beat Drexel (6-20) by 45-31...wonder what the story is on that..as it's way below season average for lakeland.
D11 will have some amazing games coming up on the 21st (assuming weather permits) Glasgow v. Meadville (rematch of a 9 point Meadville victory first game of the year) I'm taking Glasgow...
Northwestern (Mendon) 19-1 will face off with 19-5 Slater in the 2/3 game. Should be worth admission for both games!!

Have not seen Golden City but St. Elizabeth is tough, Streumph is a mobile BIG Forward.
I saw Concordia last night. They have a senior dominated squad and a brute of a big man with several good outside shooters. They are mobile enough to run the floor and play pretty good defense. Whoever beats them will have played a good game. They are also well coached. They will be a tough out.
