What a sh$(/ show. The Kylan Mabins story…

SPS just lost their appeal, now it's MSHSAA that is appealing.

Jesus Christ, this shit show never ends...

He's played the last three games, playing time has gone up more with each game it sounds like, but still splitting time with the other Glendale QB. And yeah he's been practicing.

But Kickapoo/SPS/MSHSAA want to immediately stop him from playing any more games.

I attended the Lebanon game. The young man was given a chance later in the game but needs more coaching. Too indecisive yet.

It's my understanding...and I could be totally wrong...but the "over crowding" thing won't be an issue of sorts. Districts (and obviously, subsequently schools) will be able to set enrollment limits. Of course that brings a lottery type system into the scenario or simply telling students they can't be enrolled (can of worms for athletics, obviously). All a really long and drawn out way of saying nobody know wth they're doing with all of this. Like most things, it's just some moron politician sitting behind a desk coming up with "forward thinking" ideas.
I wonder if the faster you can run would up your chances of winning that lottery. By coincidence of course.

No, this is definitely not a moron politician. This is a very savvy politician knowing that it won't pass, but playing to their base voters on the principle of the thing rather than the actual realistic utility of the thing.
Sounds like the politicians who run on a campaign of "career politicians have been in office too long" (in a state that has term limits), or "these school board members are in it for the money" (as they are all unpaid). A lot of uninformed voters out there but jump on any dog whistle that is blown.

Me thinks you might have a solid idea of how these lottery thingys work. Don't underestimate strength and ability to make a shot or two. Couldn't hurt.

This shit show is STILL going.

Now SPS has requested a new judge in the case
Strangely enough, I feel bad for no one involved in this. Maybe the kid just a tad for being attached and listening to some real ding dong adults. But that’s even pretty minimal. You’d have to be on Mars to think any of this is ethical or allowable behavior. Then again, you have Josh Scott and his merry band of attorneys pleading to just about anyone with any sort of authority on this to keep the kid from playing. Me thinks it’s a game of who’s is bigger…or smaller. Whichever you prefer.

That’s pretty much it. It’s about egos and being “right” at this point.

All this crap about “unfair competitive advantage” and “setting a bad precedence” is just a smoke screen for wilted egos

I wonder if SPS is fighting so hard because they used this to remove Mauk? If they lose could they be in for an even bigger lawsuit. On Social Media there are Mauk's commenting on every ruling.

This makes pretty good sense to me. Seems more plausible than the game of who's is bigger they're playing.
