Class 1 Early Top 10

Ask St. Vincent's, they are one of the few schools that have the same advantage. Oh wait, they aren't successful

They were when Valle was down. Kinda interesting they had a running back by the name of Meyer in 1998. Are there any Meyers that played at Valle?

BTW valle has a roster of 33 10-12th graders with 11 seniors.

Way to go Sherlock, you finally figured out that both schools swap players to build an all star team every year! As a matter of fact, Valle trades players with all private schools, BRILLIANT!

I love how its always private schools cheat but they only talk about 3-4 of them. No one thinks about how many bad private schools there are just like publics

How many public schools have won titles in that conference?
Adrian , Jasper, Lockwood, Midway and Rich Hill have won state titles in that district you listed.
Drexel has played for the title as has Appleton City in the WEMO. Archie and Osceola have been in multiple semifinals.
Chaffee won state in 1984. Hayti may have won one in the early 80s. Gianthook would know :).

Chaffee won in 1983. Hayti second to Knob Noster in 1984 and Adrian in 2002.

Speaking of Miller, are they going to be any good this year? Seems they are every other year and since they were bad last year...

Not really an every other year deal. More like 10 good and 10 bad. Miller has good days ahead but might be 1 or 2 away. I believe the Frosh are loaded and about 20 strong.

Once again, I really have no problem with any of these teams you mention.
Have watched HSF at the Dome for 20 years and 10 before that at Arrowhead and Jefferson City.

Hopefully your team will go all the way and I will be fortunate enough to get to see them...

Have a good day :)

If you're asking coach veer, I am both a coach at Valle and "ilikemiller", although is unwilling to bet on it.

Bleach, I agree with everything you wrote, finally truth instead of petty accusations. Thanks for the compliments, the Miller program is always a bone to be chewed, they play hard no matter what, they remind my alot of Thayer.

Probably not. Dadeville, maybe Walnut Grove, even more remotely MCE.

The Everton Co-Op w/ Miller hasn't really produced varsity players that I'm aware of, but there has been participation in JH and mighty might, so interest may grow.

Greenfield tried co-oping with dadeville and or Everton several times even offered to cover the costs. Both turned us down several times. Cuts into basketball practice funny how now Everton co-ops with Miller

It's funny seeing Lockwood dogging Greenfield for going 8 man. In the mid 80's Lockwood folded completely right before the season and didn't even play a varsity schedule. By doing so, they caused every team in the conference to have an open date on their schedule and this cost Greenfield a playoff spot. Lockwood's JV was pretty good though.

Lockwood can't seem to understand that

I guess what McAauly did was just as bad except the bye week won't cost any more than a lower seed?

I heard a week ago McAauly Wont be playing football this year at all... I don't know if its True But I heard when Coach Lasalle(Hope i spelt that right) And his Son left Greenfield They were doomed other kids followed them to Marionville and some that played said no thanks after that Happened.. Is there any truth to that ? And I hope Greenfield Does come back to 11 Man they always played tough and I miss playing them :)

The only reason I would question Valle is because they are dominant year after year for a class one school. You don't ever see that for this long of a time at this level. But no one has proof that they recruit and I just don't like them because they cost me two chances at some state championships in my days. Toughest teams I ever played against. They definitely have my respect but wish someone would knock them off for once.

No dog in this fight but coach LaSalle went to Mount Vernon as an assistant in 2010-2012 he took over at marrionville in 2013 but none the less greenfield has struggled since his departure!

The basketball thing is mostly what has prevented kids from playing varsity so far at Miller. There have been some very "football looking" kids on the Everton basketball teams but none have dared to cross that line. Those younger kids who have played football a couple years now will probably buck the trend when they reach the varsity level but time will tell.
While there hasn't actually been any visible resistance from the Everton administration i've not seen any visible support either. I think it is a case of looking bad if not making the option available.

LaSalle went to Mt Vernon before Marionville so little to debate there. 2 ex greenfield kids did play at Marionville once upon a time. One also was a stand out at Aurora and some moved to Joplin area and quit playing sports, we can only imagine if they had all stayed. It happens people move

Dadeville/Everton always has some "football" lookers and big talkers but never seem to show. I remember some private contests at the park years ago, no contest actually

Greenfield has had legitimate numbers problems, not just participation issues. I think there were only 3-4 boys total in 2016 graduating class.

Greenfield has had 31 boys out for camps this summer. They currently have 7 seniors out. If they can keep the numbers around that figure, they will be back to eleven man probably in the next cycle.

The Co-op thing for Drexel has worked out well. We love the fact that they come up to play, Miami has been coming up to Drexel for 5 years now after they shut down their 8 man program. If it was not for Miami, Drexel would have to drop down to eight man or not play at all possibly. Now this year the JR High is Co-op for Football, as Drexel did not field a Jr High team last season and now even the little league teams have started to Co-op, trying to build a Program.

We are still small in numbers having about 25 out, (but only lost 4 Sr. from last years team) Last year vs Sherwood we had 15 able bodies to play.

Can Anyone in Lockwood Confirm Kyle has moved out of the District ?
Kyle Bouldin? Just saw a preview on Ozark Sports Zone that lists him and has the coach talking about him. If he moved, it must be a very recent development.

Yes That Kyle. That interview was weeks ago... From the camp at Evangel and im about 90% Sure he moved out of the District.. This is coming from a coach friend who is friends with a coach in Lockwood and that coach says he's gone.

They'll still have Bates and the srvc is pretty weak (Sorry). They'll win plenty this year. Next year the bottom drops out.

Can you imagine Bates playing TE or MLB at a place like Webb.

I had someone in the know confirm he moved to Parkview.

This should be an interesting season.

Parkview that's a BIG step up.. But I guess if he wants a chance to play College Ball Class 1 isn't where its going to happen. Wish him luck !

If you are good enough, it doesn't matter what Class you play in. It is tougher but, I had a teammate, David McNeel from Greenfield, that started at linebacker for 2 or 3 years at Missouri in the early 80's and went on to play in the CFL.
