New offense? Didn't want to play in the weather? Overlooked them? A middle of the pack WEMO team demolished team 1b in SRVC.
I would never count Penney out of anything. I will say this...they went to that camp with only about half of their football team, missing key varsity players, and played a lot of incoming freshman, and all those kids that went never came off that field. Playing in very hot Temps, going from game to game to game....that being said...don't count them out, Penney has always not only had talent but they have had heart. They will be a team to watch.
Just trying to be realistic, rumor has it, Hayti is suppose to have alot of talent, what they do with it is anyones guess. Valle has a new QB so until he gets comfortable, which might take awhile, it will be interesting. Lamar will roll Valle this year imo, and Carauthersville will be a good game I think.

Hard to tell. Valle beat everybody handily. It's a shame they don't play that tough WEMO conference.

Adrian , Jasper, Lockwood, Midway and Rich Hill have won state titles in that district you listed.
Drexel has played for the title as has Appleton City in the WEMO. Archie and Osceola have been in multiple semifinals.
Chaffee won state in 1984. Hayti may have won one in the early 80s. Gianthook would know

I'll start Bates County Christian. "invite" a few kids from harrisonville, archie, adrian, butler, clinton, ballard, AC, Rich Hill, PleasantonKS, Mound City KS, Louisburg KS, Lacygne KS and Midway.
Bet I could put together a decent roster and shut out the public schools around. Grab all the 'old school' Blackhawks that played under Morrow and Bruto as coaches and give it a whirl.
Of course I'll have no Emo kids...or IEP kids. Just the basics so i can keep enrollment down.

2015 valle had 49 kids out for football at a coed school with 120 students enrolled. That's 49 out of 60 boys.

Imo that's why Webb Citys and Lamars Championships mean more than Valles... Anyone who says Valle or any privite school dont have an advantage needs their heads checked.
Oh how nice it is to see some actually HS football talk on here. Just to set a few things straight on the Lockwood Tigers. Don't count us down and out because we lost some seniors last year. We still have a very good junior and senior class coming back along with 2 of the best players in Class 1 in Kyle Bouldin and Ethan Bates. They will be a load to bring down no matter who is blocking up front. I'm really excited to see some of our younger kids step into some starting roles this year. Yes our numbers are a little low for the 9th and 10th graders but don't count on us bailing like Greenfield and go 8 man anytime soon. Bring on the season.
Seeing Lockwood play for over 30 yrs... I said last yr if lockwood beats us its bc of Ethan Bates and imo that's what happened( That pass over the top ).. Imo Bates is by far the best player on the team or should I say player im scared of when we play.. Kyle kills all other teams in the srvc but hasn't done much against us the last 2 yrs especially 2 yrs ago. Can't wait for this game !! Watching the 7 on 7 and having a new coach im scared to see how jasper does.. I'll say 6-3 tops.. We play app city and lighthouse Christian so we could be 4-5 I know nothing about those teams.

I'm still waiting on how I am a Valle supporter? This should be good.
Isn't the Richman kid that plays QB back as well this year? He's a difference maker as well and will certainly help give them a shot at making a run.
They bring back at least 3 OLine, QB, top 2 rushers, and the stud receiver. They'll be alright again.
And summer scrimmages mean absolutely nothing. Zilch. They are the equivalent to Y-League summer basketball games, which also mean absolutely nothing.
Penney might be good or might be bad but I would tend to predict on what they have returning than from a couple of days in June.
It's funny seeing Lockwood dogging Greenfield for going 8 man. In the mid 80's Lockwood folded completely right before the season and didn't even play a varsity schedule. By doing so, they caused every team in the conference to have an open date on their schedule and this cost Greenfield a playoff spot. Lockwood's JV was pretty good though.
Not that Im aware of.. I know another team Picked Up Everton this year and thats Miller.. Dadeville maybe !?
Miller does co-op with Everton and has the last couple years. Not sure there has ever been a player from Everton play varsity football though. They wouldn't be much help so far for Greenfield.
