Who will win the Rematch?

I think Eminence and North Andrew are probably the best constructed teams in the top half...balanced, size, speed, etc, but Walnut Grove and Advance’s 2-2-1 to 2-3 systems provide trouble to teams that don’t see it all year (that and they can shoot from other zipcodes and are lightning fast). Jamestown is similar with their 1-2-2 back to 1-2-2. Their press helps dictate tempo and generate points in clusters. It’s kind of like playing Maryville and Lamar in football, they give you a look rarely seen and make you beat it.

I have a heavy Eminence bias, but even I can recognize that Advance and Walnut Grove are special teams. I'm looking forward to these teams meeting up at the end of the season when there's something on the line. I just wish I could see them play, but I'll more than likely miss it since I'll be coaching. I guess there's always video tape.

In the case of advance/eminence and wg..you could always go to Springfield!

Also, if you are going to rank Winston and St. Joseph Christian, it is hard not to put the team that beat them both above them. But, I realize this is a statewide poll, so some of it comes down to visibility.

Oh well, fun to talk about
I agree. That is perplexing. Yes, they did lose to North Andrew big, but North Andrew is #2 and has beaten everyone they have played.

Another team getting no respect is Jefferson.

New maxprep ranking this morning:
1 Eminence 11-1 19.8 6.5
2 Advance 11-2 16.6 4.5
3 North Andrew (Rosendale) 11-0 15.7 -2.6
4 Dora 13-3 13.9 2.1
5 Jamestown 12-1 12.1 -3.1
6 Lakeland (Deepwater) 12-1 9.6 -5.6
7 St. Joseph Christian (St. Joseph) 12-3 9.5 -1.2
8 Pattonsburg 8-2 9.0 -1.4
9 Winston 12-1 8.8 -7.0
10 Chamois 9-3 7.0 -2.1
11 Worth County (Grant City) 7-4 6.3 2.5
12 Southwest (Ludlow) 7-2 6.1 -3.3
13 Marion County (Philadelphia) 11-6 5.8 1.9
14 Meadville 11-3 5.6 -5.0
15 Linn County (Purdin) 5-2 5.5 -2.3
16 South Holt (Oregon) 6-2 5.1 -4.0
17 Brunswick 8-3 4.8 -2.4
18 Greenfield 6-3 4.6 -1.4
19 Mercer 5-2 4.3 -3.0
20 Walnut Grove 5-7 4.0 7.1
21 Halfway 6-1 3.9 -9.5
22 Jefferson (Conception Junction) 11-6 3.8 -1.4
23 Mound City 7-3 3.5 -3.1
24 South Iron (Annapolis) 10-4 3.2 -4.4
25 Green City 8-4 3.0 -4.3

Again, even though I have a heavy Eminence bias, I know that MaxPreps has it wrong at the 1 and 2. Advance is the top C1 team in the state right now. The head-to-head match-up proves that. But I also realize that MaxPreps doesn't take into account some intangibles or other deciding factors.

Advance is top dog in SEMO right now, but lets not forget that Walnut Grove beat them last year and returned more pieces than they did. Not to Mention North Andrew returned everyone from a year ago.

Maxpreps is just an algorhythm. And lots of teams don't update their tournament games or scores, so strength of schedule and wins and losses is not accurate with a lot of teams.

Another team getting no respect is Jefferson.
Jefferson doesn't have many non-conference games, but their only losses are to Worth County early in the year, North Andrew, and Class 3 Maryville. Otherwise they have been very solid. Considering those things, it is likely they would compete well with SJC, Pattonsburg, and Winston. They are a heavy favorite to win District 16.

Pattonsburg falls to Polo 63-55.
Worth County up 52-33 over Jefferson after 3.

I guess they I was wrong?

I went and watched Polo beat pattonsburg tonight that was a very good game to watch
It was back and forth until late in the fourth quarter

T-10 Friday night recap and Saturday preview.

#6 Eminence cruises over Winona.

#2 North Andrew beat Mound City by 15.

#5 Winston beat DeKalb big.

#7 Lakeland both picked up wins.

#8 Walnut grove won big over Ash Grove. I would bet that they will not lose until Springfield the rest of the year.

#1 Advance’s game was postponed from last night against Richland.

#3 Dora beat Gainesville 70-56

#4 Jamestown won by 50.

#10 Meadville beat a solid Class 2 La Plata last night.

# 9 St. Joseph Christian will play Savannah’s Jv in the Fairfax tourney final. I’m sure it isn’t the matchup SJC wanted.

Polo and Winston will be a good matchup in Osborn Tourney final.

In Stanberry, North Andrew and Worth County get their rematch after an 8 point win by North Andrew in the previous matchup.

Jefferson and Mound City in the 3rd place game at Stanberry is also worth keeping an eye on as it is likely the district 16 championship game matchup. Previous matchup Jefferson won by 16.

Walnut Grove is playing very well right now but the schedule is getting no easier for them coming up as in two weeks they play in the Class 5 Nixa Tournament so for them to run the table will be a giant task.

While there was a lot of anticipation about a Winston-Pattonsburg rematch, Winston and Polo have also played before this year. Winston won 40-34, so it should be another good game between those two.

Halftime score at the Fairfax tournament. St. Joe Christian leads Savannah JV 26-23. Interesting score at halftime

Final. Christian 53 Savannah JV 47. Very good tournament for Savannah’s JV finishing 2nd after coming into the tournament as the 7 seed. And played Christian to the end. Congrats to both teams.

Stanberry tourney: Mound city boys were edged 50-45 by Jefferson in Overtime for 3rd place.

North Andrew defeated Worth County 63-40 in the Championship. I really thought this would be a dogfight. Maybe there was illness or something factored in..not sure.

As previously mentioned, SJC won the Fairfax Tourney today as well. The North Andrew and SJC matchup looms..but SJC v. Winston is first.

The next couple weeks will be to fun to watch some good basketball. With most teams finding their stride we're going to see some good teams matched up against each other

Do you know where the north Andrew stjoe Christian game is going to be played at

I checked on the schedule for all the top 10's. Looks like a slow week around the state overall.

1. Advance has Bigger school Notre Dame and then a lower level Zalma team and Meadow Heights (I predict a 2-1 record with a loss to Notre Dame)
2. North Andrew Plays Stanberry and Braymer (predicting 2-0 record this week)
3. Dora either has a bye week or a tournament?
4. Jamestown has a slow week with 1 game against a sub .500 Westran Team (win for Jimmyville)
5. Winston has a slow week as well with one game against sub .500 Stewartsville (win for win)
6. Eminence has a tournament (what seed and who will they see...anyone?)
7. Lakeland has one game week against sub .500 Class 2 Archie (vikings conquer)
8. Walnut Grove has Humansville (winless according to Mshsaa) and Weaubleau 8-4 (tigers slash)
9. St. Joseph Christian has a sub .500 Braymer team and a sub .500 Albany Team (Lions rawr)
10. Meadville has Green City (8-4) and Northwestern (Mendon) (8-4) -I could see a potential upset here..but Eagles will go 2-0.

Eminence is set to play in the Liberty Invitational in Mtn. View, but all games for today have been postponed due to weather. The bracket looks like this:
#1 Eminence
#8 Mtn. Home

#4 Wright County
#5 Winona

#2 Thayer
#7 Summersville

#3 Liberty
#6 Koshkonog

That’s right, we could very well be seeing Eminence/Thayer: Round 3

I need a biglebowski22 mid mo update!! Tell us about the area teams.

Basically same in this area, Jamestown is still rolling w/ a win @ Stover tourney over Dixon (they are tough team to prepare for due to all the 3's they shoot). Jtown only played 1 game last week w/ win over Prairie Home by 50. Their schedule will toughen in a week when they play in Slater tourney that will have 2 top 2A teams in Sacred Heart & Fayette, Glasgow also in that tourney. Jtown is 2 seed behind Sacred Heart. St Elizabeth played in California & lost to Warrensburg , beat California and lost to Boonville. That district is still shaping up to be between St E & Jtown, Glasgow could also be in the mix.

Solid point on Chamois I left them out of my previous post but they need to be noted. They are playing solid, their defense and style often make it tough to beat them.

WG tiger dad...I know Walnut Grove is a three point machine...(especially Thomazin) how many career 3's is Logan up to?

Do you know what their program record is for 3's made in a game as a team? Wondering if they need to submit all that stuff to mshsaa.

Also, have they seeded the Nixa tournament yet? Curious to hear who they will play?

Typically the Nixa Tournament does not seed, at least that’s what they have done in the past
