Jamestown and Chamois play Tuesday night. They’ve always seemed to play each other fairly close. I’m betting we get to see one more clash after Tuesday’s game.Found it: Chamois 50, St. Elizabeth 38. Look out Jamestown . (Jamestown won 86-27 over Bunceton)
Dora VS WG canceled for tonightI'm seeing Dora and Walnut Grove clash tonight as well! Good night of basketball, permitting decent weather...lots of snow in Central Missouri and some coming in Northwest Missouri.
Any mention of reschedule?Dora VS WG canceled for tonight
They will play SaturdayNorth Andrew game got cancelled too.
That first game against Advance (Eminence's first game of the year) was a really bad showing for Eminence. I don't think they're the same team that showed up to that game. That being said, Advance's guard play is really, really good, and they also have a strong 6'5" kid who is athletic. It'll be a tough match-up, and I'm looking forward to that game. My bias says Eminence wins by 5 in the rematch.Just saw Eminence blew out South Iron 65-29. They are on a 21 game win streak right now. Anyone have thoughts on what will happen if they get to play Advance again?
The program I had listed him a little taller than 6'2", which I guess is commonplace these days, lol. And he dunked in traffic on Eminence in the first game. It was impressive. And though he's not a great "scorer" in the sense that he doesn't create shots for himself, he's a tenacious rebounder and he's plenty strong. He got a good deal of second chance buckets by fighting for position and just being a workhorse. If Eminence runs man, I think assigning McBride to him will eliminate those hustle points, especially if there's an emphasis to not allow offensive boards. Even if they run zone, I think hammering the idea of crashing the glass and blocking out for McBride and Dyer could help out in that department. If Ethan Drake and Trent McBride play like they have been since the Cabool Holiday Tournament, I find it hard to believe that they lose to Advance again.Advance does have strong guard play. However, the inside kid isn't 6-5, he's 6-2 or 6-3 but he can dunk on you quick. He's real athletic but not a great scorer. The key to beating Advance is limiting them to one shot. They don't press well at all when they are not scoring. But if you let them get on a roll they can get up 20 real quick. I'll take Eminence if there is a rematch.
Game is rescheduled for Feb. 15th.Dora VS WG canceled for tonight
Jamestown Chamois game has been cancelled tonight. Looks like they will be making this game up on Wed night.
Low scoring for the eagles the past few games
It will be interesting to see if they can match pace with advance and eminence if they get out of their quarter (which seems like they should)The last 2 opponents have been grind it out type teams that slow things down. Defensively Jamestown has done a great job of limiting uncontested shots and are able to control the boards. That usually plays well in postseason.
So they won you over from the last time you posted? I've been saying it all along...don't sleep on Worth County..they have ups and downs but will be ready at the right time.I mean I do believe WOCO and SJC are dangerous. Having seen what they have done to some pretty good teams I think they are the team to beat. They beat a really good Plattsburg team last night. So I like them to come out of NWMO as final 4 representatives.
Yeah they have. I was still hesitatant looking at them before. Saturday could help solidify them as the favorite if they beat Falls City Sacred Heart. Like you said though WOCO is dangerous. Getting healthy at the right time with there size they could spring the upset. So they won you over from the last time you posted? I also think Eminence is vulnerable just because they have the toughest schedule, but I no longer view Dora as as big of a threat after they've now beaten them twice. Advance is still a little worrying to me. Also, I don't think I shared the update, but that South Iron/Eminence match-up we were looking forward to ended up being a blowout. Eminence prevailed 65-29. I'm hopeful for South Iron's future though, especially with the Wakefield boy just being a Freshman.I think Jamestown and Eminence are the most vulnerable (due to Dora, Advance, and the challengers of Jamestown..not quality of team in Jamestown and Eminence). Walnut Grove is a lock down and stamp it. North Andrew has decent challengers, just depends on if they see a team on that team's good night or bad night.
WOCO and SJC being out of the polls is very odd. I’m okay with the top 4. But from there down I’m not agree 100% with. Winston is a product of there schedule. I’d probably go Walnut Grove at 5, Meadville 6, Dora at 7, 8 WOCO, 9 SJC, and 10 Winston. I just can’t trust the HDC schedule they play. Just my opinion. My personal final 4 is Eminence, Jamestown, Walnut Grove and North Andrew. With 2 weeks til districts anyone see any of those 4 possibly getting bumped out in Sectionals or Quarters?
Hey, I'm loving the contributions from the lurkers...yeah...is Linn County going to be a factor? Seemed like they dropped a fair bit of games down the stretch.Speaking of Meadville (a very good basketball team), there is a class 1 team up in that area that has accounted for 1 of Meadville's losses (at Meadville) and has wins over 2 of the other 3 teams that Meadville lost to.

I'm not overlooking them, I'm just not as worried about them as I was earlier in the year. And the first game was close at the end, but it was a 17 point game at one point. And after the second game, I'm expecting that it is officiated a lot tighter than the first one. I just think that they don't have the size or the senior leadership to pull out an upset against this Eminence team. But hey, it's basketball. Anything could happen on any given day.Overlooking Dora would be a huge mistake. The game at Eminence was close and could have gone either way.
Seems their girls aren't too shabby either
