Webbs Hurtin for Certain

Nixa and Webb Both gave up 16.9 Points per game. Best two in the COC last year. If thats struggling sign me up! Biggest difference between the Old Ozark Conference and the COC is that teams in the COC have been much better on Defense.
Very well could've been two yrs ago I was thinking about with Webb's D. They struggled giving up big plays and their secondary was pretty suspect.

Let's just address the elephant in the room. The biggest difference in OC and COC was SPS and the drastic decline of Waynesville. Those two factors made that conference just plain bad outside two or three teams.

Webbs Hurtin for Certain

If they go maybe 2 more years without a state title it may start to come to that
Admittedly I have no clue what the C5 landscape looks like...but what I saw last year just didn't look nearly good enough to consistently compete on a high level. They weren't bad by ANY stretch of the imagination. I just thought they were good, not great. Pretty one dimensional. Struggled on D at times. Can be a bad combo when you get on the wrong side of the scoreboard.

Best matchups of week 1

Oh man, I came at you with facts in the other thread so now you’re just running around being a smart@$$.

I guess we’ll ignore where multiple times I said the COC was a better conference.
Normally I like most of what you have to say, but you’re really on one today. Go take a $h!t and relax.
Yo...Bosko said I need to get my own thing...Being a smart@$$ is my thing!

Ozark Mountain Preseason Picks

Ohhhhh. So we’re doing the “historically” COC, so we can remove Webb, Joplin, and Carthage’s accomplishments from there. And what’s left after that?
Historically was probably a bad use of the word. Most recent iteration of both maybe better, all the Joplin mess aside. But I can't imagine anyone thinking the OC compares to the COC over the last, what, 10-15 years. It just doesn't seem to hold weight or pass the eye test. Camdenton isn't and hasn't been the Camdenton of the mid to early 2000's and before, and they were still the best in the conference (at least consistently) during that period. Lebanon obviously has an argument. WP maybe can try, but they'd fail. And pretty much everyone else in the OC was god freaking awful. A one off here and there, but by and large just bad football.
West Plains was beating down the original COC schools 20 years ago before the SW conference schools joined the COC more than a decade later.
Hang a banner for that.
Such a bad conference that the COC welcomed half of them with open arms this summer 🤣🤣🤣
Buddy, I can assure you, they didn't "get invited" because of their football prowess. It's, in fact, probably quite the opposite.
Take away Webb City who joined the COC about a decade ago and how many state titles does the COC have this millennium?

I’m thinking maybe 1? Which would be Carthages(who also joined about a decade ago) from about 5 years ago

Well the OC has more than that this millennium
State titles aren't a qualifier of better football across an entire conference. That would be what we like to call a small or concentrated sample.
I have NEVER said that the OC is a better conference because it’s not true but all this chest thumping when there’s really only one school in the COC that has dominated state wide(other than Carthage one time).
Funny thing is back during pre-COC Webb I remember one OC school in particular that gave Webb fits in the playoffs whenever they faced off. They only beat Webb once if I recollect but it was always a battle when they met.
You can say or not say whatever you want. You've tried to argue the OC is on the same level as the COC in football. You're incorrect. That's all. Camdenton and Leb would've and probably could've competed regularly. Joplin has, obviously. WP might have, maybe, a few years. That's it. And the really bad OC teams have been far worse than the really bad COC teams for a long time.
