A thread I recently read made me think about this again and I wondered what this would look like with the new enrollments. After setting it up I notice one issue with the private school success factor. There would need to be a 3 class jump instead of 2, so I set the points at 3 for 1, 8 for 2, and 12 for 3.

Each class size was 43-44. The classes with the lowest ratio were set at 44. Class 1 had the highest ratio at 1.95 but all other classes ranged between 1.3 to 1.58. Districts had 5 or 6 teams and I tried to balance them out from east to west using the backward N Mshsaa typically uses. Travel was cut down some and nothing like Mshsaa has done in the last few years. This eliminated all 1v8 and 2v7 post-season matchups and even created 4v5 games giving schools competitive matchups to end the season and greater opportunities to have post-season success some schools are not used to.

At the end of the season, I will seed the district based on calpreps. I feel it is more accurate than maxpreps and would be better than mshsaa's formula with the addition of another class. I will also use the calpreps predictor each week through districts. I don't like the rotating districts and will reseed the district champs using calpreps. This is one change I wish Mshsaa would consider is continuing the point system through districts and seeding the district champs. They clearly don't care about travel so I'm not sure how they keep using that as a crutch.

Kearney @ Grain Valley.

Without a doubt the Blue Springs South game will be their huge C6 measuring stick plus there is one advantage to playing 3 overmatched teams in a row gives them a chance to iron out their offense which looked questionable back in Week 2 for whatever that is worth considering that opponent (LN).
If teams were smart against Liberty they would load the box, play cover 1 or zero. Force the QB to beat you. They run the ball so well but Hicks can only do so much carry the rock week to week in class 6.

Calpreps Projections for week 6

Are you sure???
Well hot dang Bosko!!!! I never imagined you would be the one to bring me joy today!

Calpreps Projections for week 6

Calpreps still has current data for this week but starting next week it won't be relevant. Just wanted to know if anyone would be interested in me manually projecting this weeks games for one last hoorah!
Are you sure???

Best Small town stadium and atmosphere

Jasper and Mark Gilbreath Field... the fact they named it after Mark is spectacular, but it sits next to the train tracks, and I did witness an official time out and clock stoppage that occurred due to the unending train whistle. My late Dad worked with some of the engineers that went through there, and they would claim they hoped to cause a interruption if they could. It kind of gives a Brewster's Million feel, without the million of course.

Cass Midway if I recalled had a field and school that seemed in the middle of nowhere, yet had a herd of cattle grazing right next to it... kind of ironic when you realize you're literally on the outskirts of the KC urban sprawl.

Rich Hill, with the old high school building and rock bleachers, could give you the feel of a an old prison yard. You didn't dare drink the water or shower there either.

Now, for some fields I think that would be fun to watch a game at would include Odessa Permian at Ratliff Field (not really small school though), and I'd like to see one up in Barrow, Alaska, on the blue field next to the Arctic. Not sure if I'll ever make it to those. Of course, just to pull up and watch some 6-man game at a spot in the road in Texas or Kansas might be cool as well; one would think the concession and food might be decent at some of those.
The field in Alaska looks awesome. That would be a fun trip to see a game!

COC Week 6 pickem'

Carthage
, but I think it could be close. Joplin isn't a contender for state but they are better than I thought they might be, I could see them burning Carthage on numerous big plays.
I thought Repbulic might be way down but as the season has progressed they are looking better as well. Webb City played a much better game last week and executed what they needed to do to get the W but I expect Republic will be too much to handle for this group even if they execute.
Neosho, unless the last second Webb loss deflated them too much. They probably could/would have beat Webb City had they just ran the ball instead of trying to throw big spectacular plays.
Not sure who wins this one, don't really care. I still don't know who won between Poo and Glendale last week, it never showed up on scorestream.
Lebanon hasn't had a great start but I like them over the Ozark Tigers.

The Poo won 27 - 14 I believe, they played a Thursday night game.

Mo has put together quite a team

Matheny 3 playoff appearances, won 115 games more than lost, 21 playoff games won
Shildt 3 playoff appearances, won 53 more games than lost. 4 playoff games won
Marmol 1 playoff appearance, won 6 games more than lost, 0 playoff wins

Matheny ran off bc wasn't making more LCS or WS, Shildt power struggle of some sort, but we keep the current. No real shaking of the front office. I guess at least ballpark village is full!
