State championship predictions

Yep… but rural schools with 15 or 20 available athletes in grades 9-12 can fill a baseball roster easier than football unless the option is there to play with a reduced number.

As for limited, our family completely knows that; son worked his tail off to make his Class 5 high school baseball team. It is an easier sport to access at smaller schools, but you have to be on your A-game to make that team in the larger ones.
There are very few schools with an enrollment that yield only 4-5 athletes per class.

For reference Lil bitty midway 9-11 enrollment of 91 yields football team of 31

Unless their is just a shortage of athletes the roster space on baseball is limited unlike football

Cards1968..................MS playoffs

From the most popular forum I can find down here, the Calpreps prediction:

6A CHAMPIONSHIP
Grenada (MS) vs. #181 Hattiesburg (MS) [projection and percent chances to win: Grenada (MS) 26 (62%) #181 Hattiesburg (MS) 20 (38%)

That board also feels like Grenada is the favorite. Not me. Hattiesburg beat the mighty Picayune for South State. With the hometown crowd I like 'em too.

Cards1968..................MS playoffs

Two games today:

3A Choctaw County (South) 34 Noxubee County (North) 27

7A Tupelo (North) 28 Brandon (South) 16

Both games are 'shockers' to me. Noxubee has a outstanding QB who signed with Miss St. yesterday and are always in the championship discussion. Tupelo FINALLY realized their potential, but according to people down here this was not an upset.

The rest of the weekend sounds like it's going to take something Biblical to see any other upsets.
6A looks like a great one. Can Hattiesburg get the area another title (Oak Grove last year)?

Biden giving Rivian $6.6 Billion for GA EV plant

That 9 billion didn’t come from the federal government. Other automakers who failed to meet regulatory standards can buy credits from Tesla. The money comes from other manufactures,,,it’s for sure not a loan from the federal government

State championship predictions

I would hope not, especially in big districts, but rural schools may start being more 9-man with a glove and club. That is unless a helmet and pads option remains available to them. Rural landmass covers more territory and if the stadium lights polka dot more diamonds than gridirons, then that’s what the state will be known for.
