64 team playoff

24 is the way to go. 1st two rounds on college campuses 1-8 get a bye and 9-16 host. 1-8 get a home game and then quarterfinals as currently scheduled. Still could have bowl game and either get rid of conference championship games or get rid of one regular season game and allow losers of first round to still go to a bowl game.
Auto bids top 3 from SEC and BIg 10 and top 2 from Big 12 and ACC get auto bids. 1 Auto bid each to revamped Pac 12, Mountain West, AAC, MAC, CUSA and Sunbelt which leaves 8 at larges for Notre Dame and other qualifiers. Only exception to the bracket is no rematch from the regular season in the first round.
So that field would be everyone currently in the CFP top 25 except Illinois Syracuse Colorado and Memphis and add the 3 conference winners not in the top 25.
That would be 7 SEC, 4 BIg 10, 3-ACC, 3_BIg 12, 1 Independent, 2 Mt West, 1 each AAC, MAC CUSA and Sunbelt.

What's your dream scenario for this weekend in Columbia?

My dream scenario plays out a lot differently for me ...

1, Win some insanely high lottery (which will never happen).

2, Build an indoor stadium capable of hosting state football championships centrally located in the state (but not in the city where it is currently being held, I have a bias against that city). I'm not sure exactly where I would build it but it has to be a location with ample hotels, restaurants and some other "attractions and distractions" to allow the non-football family members entertainment options while the football fans can attend as many games as they want. (Likewise, this won't happen either.)

3, Sign an exclusive contract with MSHSAA to host the state football championships. My initial thought would be similar agreement that Omaha has with the NCAA and the College World Series, 50 years. In the agreement I would allow MSHSAA to use the venue rent free for the two days of the state football championships and then I'm sure the agreement would have a percentage split on the gate and concessions, or perhaps they keep 100 percent of the gate and host venue gets 75 percent of the concessions and MSHSAA gets 25 percent. Doesn't matter to me, I won't allow it to be a deal-breaker, I'm confident that whatever is best for the membership, its football programs and fans we can find common ground. (Still, a pipedream).

4, I would also need to decide on a seating capacity ... it doesn't need to be Dome at Amerca's Center big with 60,000+ seats, I'm thinking closer to under 30,000, probably closer to 25,000 or 20,000. It's been a while since I looked at state football championship attendance figures but assume for a minute that every person who attended all six games is at ONE game, what would be the ideal seat capacity? Sure would look a like better on TV with a venue with 25,000 seats 7/8ths full vs. a venue that is 3/4 empty.

Starting SG tore ACL. Only 1 soph in program. Junior class really “meh” (there’s reasons for both those classes being down.)
Frosh class is OK. 4 deep may be pushing it. Functional big (transfer from Nixa), PG and combo guard. No shooting. Everyone else is just a placeholder. The area is so down they may still be the best.
Good information. Up here in NW Missouri you just hear Kickapoo and just think year after year final 4 runs.

Top Players at each Position (2025 Draft Class)

Mediocre? Im sorry. I cant hear you over us being ranked THIRD IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY!
Let's break this down.. In the Franklin era they are 88-39 in the regular season. That about a 70%.. That a C- in grading. They have averaged a 3rd place finish in the Big 10 East in that time. 3 out of 7 that's about 75%, which is a C. They are 4-5 in Bowl games (1 year did not have Bowl). That is below 50% which flunks on the grading scale. That would drop the average to about 64% overall. That is below average for the Natty Lions. Any other place, Franklin would be fired for that performance. Not at PSU, where that is winning big time to what they are used too.

NWCMO Playoff Challenge Round 6 (State Finals all classes)

Seems fitting. IMO it is the best game on the schedule. I went back and forth all week on who to pick. I think it truly is a toss up pick em!

May the best team win!
I went back and forth on that one too. Should be a fun time. At least, if I lose I'll have the consolation of knowing a local SWMO team won State. Good luck!

Odessa is Filled !!!!

From an impartial HS football fan POV that Kearney team was a blast to watch. I remember watching the 2002 team dismantle Eureka in the champtionship and it was a dominant performance. I don't think Eureka knew what hit them. My first time watching Tommy Saunders and I was a fan.
The D that year were the most amazing bunch of ball thieves I've seen to date. Literally any time they group stopped a RB/WR look out that ball was coming out...................

I remember #3 Darnell Terrell running for a long TD first or second play from scrimmage it sure never happened again that day in the Dome.

NWCMO Playoff Challenge Round 6 (State Finals all classes)

Everything will come down to ONE game: C2 championship tomorrow at 3 PM Fair Grove vs. Lamar. Nothing else matters so we will announce our winner once that goes final!

GOOD LUCK to our finalists and again to all 14 teams this weekend!

Remember the team huddles after each win those two years? They showed one after Kearney dismantled a very good Ray-Pec 42-6 on Metro Sports September 2003 those exceptional young men all "at attention" especially one Benny Palmer.

FUN memories!
