joplins passing attack is definitely above average...running attack is terrible. need to work the edge with renfro and wright on some pitch plays. keep trying to run the slow kid in the trenches.
Wish they'd do that against Carthage
I have noticed Wright tends to tip plays..... on a majority of the run plays he is moving forward as the ball is snapped and on pass plays he tends to stay set on the snap.
I have noticed webbs d tips their plays. When the ball is snapped they completely forget about pass coverage.
Instant classic. Wow. Webb certainly did not help themselves tonight. Always Wright was the best player on the field and He gave his team a chance. D has a lot, I mean, a lot of work to do to be competitive. They showed some fight by coming back from 14 down. Tough loss but they battle. Only week 1.
great game...ive seen coaches let teams score like wen wc was driving to take the lead. I was kinda hoping they would score with a couple minutes left or just let them score cuz you knew they were going to. apparently 46 seconds was enuff.
Roderique threw some shade at the joplin kids in the post game interview, what was he referring to?
That Wright kid is the real deal. Not sure he’s got much of a supporting cast but he’s tremendous. Hard fought game.
I must have missed that but he said he was proud of the team for fighting back and regretted not calling a time out before that last sec fg
After game Joplin goes to mid field and disrespects the Cardinal....... teams come to blows.......do those flags have any effect on next weeks game for players involved?
The real question is: After 3 straight loses to Joplin, is Coach Rod around next week?
no need for that. i watched both sides interact after plays and they were always good sportsman...helping kids up slapping their helmets concern for cramping wc players.
Difference in the game was one team could kick the ball. Hurts to let them start on the 35 yard line every time. Great game to both teams. Just thrilled we’re playing football and the lines didn't have to stay 6 ft apart.
Uhhh....if Webb can't beat Joplin they won't touch Jackson.
I ain’t even mad Webb lost. They showed grit by coming back from 14 after nothing was going their way, mostly because they kept shooting themselves in the foot. Good experience for the young guys. That kicking situation certainly has to be addressed.
Making it to the Semi’s is a failure for them. Thats basically when they see anyone good anyway. Im pretty sure they hang Banners for Semi’s yes?
I don't know if Webb will "crush" through the playoffs, but Jackson is the defending best team in the state regardless of 'class', something you seem to be familiar with.
Yeah but Webb isn't ahead to begin with if they didn't have all of those 2 point conversions.
Failure may not be the word but certainly not what they play for. But, come on, that’s weeks away. No need to be talking crazy after the first week.
Don’t know about defending best team in the State point but they aren’t to shabby.
Joplin played one hell of a game and Webb showed alot of grit and gave themselves a good chance to win . Props to Joplin . I hate losing to them but they have an offense that Webb has always struggled with. Go back the last 30 years and see how many teams hang 40+ points on Webb . I can only think of Kearney in 03 and Joplin like 3 years in a row
Edit...I looked it up . Springdale Har-Ber scored 42 to break their 40+ game winning streak and Columbia Hickman scored 42 in 2002. So Webb has given up over 40 pts 6 times in 30 plus years and 3 are to Joplin . Bad matchup for us . But Wright was a stud tonight both teams will improve and it will be interesting to see if either can knock of nixa
