Absolute joke to rank Timberland. They bring back 9 starters and lost arguably their greatest ever player in AJ Raines. They'll be fortunate to finish 3rd in the GAC South. There's 10 teams they won't rank that I'd put ahead of Timberland... Eureka should be ranked a little higher IMO.

As for the small schools Duchesne has 24 total players and STL Today thinks that's good enough to be ranked top 10 in the area despite losing their best class in school history.

Ranked Edwardsville IL #7. They host Jackson next Friday that was a thriller last year.

Small school STL outside of Cardinal Ritter isn’t looking too hot on the Missouri side. Maybe LN?

Though his career ended in alcohol addiction and other problems, I’d say Montee Ball is the best football player to come out of Timberland ever at this point.
Just my opinion.

MICDS, LN, & Borgia I’d presume. They’ll probably throw St. Mary’s in, although word is they’re supposed to be down.

HC left. Lots of talent graduated plus the threat of closing I'd bet anything the Dragons are not contenders no matter what class they land in.

I would still probably rank St. Mary's but lower than probably what STL Today will do given the standard they've set so far here. They'll rank teams who lost so much and don't even have great prospects coming up lol.

The Dragons have a huge test to open season hosting SLUH. If they can win that then its safe to say they're still pretty good.

All of the coaching staff left as well. I heard plenty of players left to attend Belleville West with their former coach. Two brothers who are good, big linemen are now at East St. Louis. Like you said they graduated a lot of production on top of all of that.

Had no idea SM had that many guys from Illinois smh lol (unless they just moved over this summer).

Down to the top three my guess on Large Class is 1) ESL, 2) CBC, 3) Fran Howell. Small Class only guess #1 is Cardinal Ritter.

Lutheran North will be solid. They returned over half of their starters including multiple all-staters.
I was not impressed with LN at the jamboree, don't get me wrong, they are still LN, but like LN light. Their lineman were not impressive.

They don't, just like East St louis doesn't have that many kids that live in East St louis. Just mark them homeless.

Wednesday bump. Looks like the obvious is unfolding in the large class it will be ESL tomorrow and Ritter the likely #1 in Small. Final post once confirmed.............

The Dragons will indeed be in Class 5 and yes they will field a team this year. Honestly I would never have rated them this high but we shall see beginning Friday.
They are now "St. Mary's South Side" and are playing no regional/out of state games but do have an open date Oct 13 as of now.

Extremely overrated. STL Today does not do their homework and just do the "who was good last year and we'll just rank them no matter what" approach. I bet they were surprised to learn how many starters graduated on more than half of the teams they ranked.

This year it sure looks right. A smidge intellectually lazy.

Wow I thought they’d give #2 small school to Lutheran North…..they didn’t even put them on the list
