I think it’s time to get rid of Sportswriters the Computer polls in the 🗑️, and have us MoSporters do the polls.
I've watched most of their games.
Guess they can earn respect in districts.
And yes they have a shtter schedule. No matter how much they tried to run it up on Sherwood (scoring 57th point with 2 mins left in game lol).

No Thayer in Class 2? Interesting. I kinda like them to emerge from that tough district. There is a Mountain or two to climb, but liberation lies on the other side of our view.

Branson will soon have the chance to prove if they are actually good or if they just bought an easy schedule to make their record better. If their post season looks the same as past years they won't keep showing up on top 10 polls in future years. People will just know it's fools gold, kind of like Smith Cotton was for awhile. But for now Branson gets the benefit of the doubt. Especially give the margin by which they've won their games.
Boonville is extremely overrated
I’d say Helias has earned their spot, but Branson… it’s tough to say. I expect them to lose by 2-3 TDs to RepMo in districts so we’ll find out all we need to know about the pirates in the next 4 weeks

I was just looking at C6 D1 Jackson looks to be all over that one including at Seckman most likely in the final. Doesn't get tougher than playing Ritter and Edwardsville IL!
I definitely get what you're saying about a quality win however, they have destroyed the rest of their competition so they still are obviously way better than a decent class 5 team so they deserve to be where they are. Lamar for instance has beaten literally nobody as well (Tipton in class .5 barely counts) but I'd say they are prbly about where they should be as well.
week 1 they didn't destroy anyone.
And running up 90 points against thumpers doesn't impress anyone that knows what they're looking at.
I mean you can keep making silly arguments against them if you want and not acknowledge that there are several other teams that everyone seems to like that have the same resume but it still won't make sense.
This is about as "wait til deep in the playoffs to find out" a year as I can ever remember!
It's not just about who they have beaten its about watching games, knowing what you are looking at, not to mention their pedigree. But that's OK keep denying them it will all work itself out oflver the next 7 weeks.
I do get what you're saying, but there is still something to be said about killing your decent competition. You can only play who is on your schedule and how you do against them should mean something
If you give Neosho, Lebanon or Willard, Bransons schedule , they are probably undefeated and state ranked. Okay, maybe not willard.
Helias isn't playing murderer's row.
Case could be made they lost to the only decent team they played.
You're confusing decent with really good. No they have not beaten a really good school.
No they are aren't.
They played one bad quarter against Rock Bridge which killed them.
There starting D has given up I believe 64 points this year. They are solid. The rest of points were given up by second and third string.
The offense is where I am more worried about having sustained drives against better defenses.
I would say Helias should be top ten but where at I really don't know until we play a solid team.
Branson shouldn't be ranked. Not now, not next year or any other year in the foreseeable future. They left a legit conference for a weak one. That alone should eliminate them from the discussion in perpetuity.
IMO, if they want to be state ranked or taken seriously, they should have stayed in the COC and battled it out, not leave to be the biggest school in a weak leage.
They might be really good. They can prove it next month. Until then, they've just proven they're scared of competition and teams that are scared of competition shouldn't be rewarded or recognized.
