Definitely colloquial Ozarkese used by the men folk where I grew up.......,much to my mother and other ladies' chagrin. The very pragmatic German-American culture I grew up in didn't see any utility in speculating about "what ifs" when failure occurred. It was considered more important to think about "why" it happened and "how" could you keep it from happening again. Despite that fact I still find myself indulging in the what if game but I always think of my dad when I do.

Odessa is more KC than NW. It is straight east of KC on I-70. Nowhere near NW Missouri. You gotta get up by St. Joseph to be in NW NW Missouri. Odessa is kind of like Harrisonville. The KC metro isn't going to claim it until it makes it to the title game. But Odessa falls under HS media coverage from PrepsKC and 810 Varsity out of KC.
