Jackson/Webb ???

Seems apparent that Washington is Webb’s best athlete and they are doing what they can to get him touches. He gives them a big play threat every time he gets the ball. Not sure how Jacksons corners are but they’ll be tested with him.
Webb’s problem may be having time to throw. Passing has not been a strong part of their game, so if the QB is not poised and able to handle the rush it may not go well for them.

One receiver will not matter. The corners were tested against Rockwood Summit. Rockwood had 2 very good receivers - they got behind the corners and that is how they scored both TD’s at the beginning of the game. Webb is about to see a tidal wave - passing, running, offense & defensive line and backers that are absolutely in shape and get better as the game goes later. A 3 loss team will struggle.
With that being said, anything is possible! The game is played on the field.

We can forgive Truth Serum and Dawdley for not knowing that much about Jasper County football and the COC. But MAN their comments did not age well. OUCH!

I’m a Jackson alumni and I won’t take anything away from Webb city. They’ve had a great program for many years granted all 4a up until last year but non the less a great program. I could only imagine the stats Jackson would have if they were still 4a that long. They got bumped to 5a around 97 I believe and have always had a good program. That being said coach Eckley has made major improvements in his tenure here. He’s built depth to the point that the youth league are running the same offense as the highschool so by the time those 3rd and 4th graders reach freshman they’ve been running the same offense as the highschool for 7 years. It’s amazing what he’s accomplished. Webb city has a great program and a great coach with a long tradition of winning and I was one of those people hoping to see them beat platt last year but it didn’t happen. I would love to see these two teams play In the regular season but it won’t happen because the distance just don’t make since. Having said all this I wish both teams the best of luck but I don’t see WC beating Jackson. Jackson is just too damn good and well rounded. They excel at every aspect of the game and have been nothing but dominate. I think it’ll be a great game and I’ll enjoy watching it but in my opinion…..Holt….we’ll see you at state!!!
WHAT?!?!?!

Well I just hope Holt doesn't mind another tribe sitting on their side with them 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yes, But I noticed that you didn’t post this yesterday.
We were too busy waiting to see Jackson, the only team in Missouri history to win 27 games in a row, to have no players play both sides of the ball, the team that when their defense hits their opponent the Mississippi River flows backwards for several seconds, the team that has SUCH a huge crowd it would displace Webbies on their home side, the team that would turbo that little "Class 4 team."

What happened?

I recall last year Jackson having a big chip on their shoulder when a PC player said they play nobody . Webb had a chip on their shoulder since week 8 when they were 5-3 and people said they suck . True fans know they didn't suck but the coc is freaking stacked . They had a chip when they said Carthage will thump them again . They had a chip when people said Lebanon will run all over them ...they had a chip from you and truthserems bs about an unbeatable Jackson team . They don't care what people say . They just plug along and outwork everyone

Is that your way of saying we were too scared to post yesterday? If that’s the case I’ll say this. I didn’t want to post bc I didn’t want my mouth to overload my a$$ the way yours has. I was giving a good Jackson team a chance to prove it… As it turns out though, they really didn’t play anyone worth anything all year. And you said the Jackson coaches wouldn’t let it get out of hand….. 😂😂😂😂😂

Truth is Webb absolutely dominated this game . They got conservative late and quit passing and rightfully so with that lead but Webb's o had their way with Jackson . These things happen against a team that's never played Webb . Your work team cannot replicate what Webb throws at you. The only teams that have regular success slowing down Webb are teams that play them over and over and learn how to defend them . Or teams that are just far superior up front . I've seen Webb beat many teams bigger and better then them physically because they can't defend the triple option . Rockhurst , Jeff City , Har-Ber St..Thomas Aquinas etc

I believe that the starters didn't finish the game because they had sprained some ankles and muscles from running around the Cardinal before the game started. When the WC players were told that that happened, they had smoke begin to come out of the noses and that's all they needed to dominate.

They didnt run on the Cardinal. They ran to the 50 near the cardinal and then ran to their side down the 50. Just looked like a normal entrance and actually maybe more respectful bc i am sure they usually run to the indian and down at home. They avoided the Cardinal.

Yeah no one ever thinks poor Webb has a chance.

Wh
Not in this case.
What are you talking about? Your original post had to do with the “tidal wave” Webb was gonna see……in Jackson. I very well couldn’t say that post “didn”t age well” before the game happened. Not a hard concept to understand, at least I thought it wasn’t.

Joplin was a rb away from being in the class 6 championship imo give Joplin Davis or glades and you can't beat them ..,this year they fell apart bc their best player transferred to Carthage mid season with good cause . Carthage , and nixa would have gave Jackson everything they had . I'm guessing Jackson would have went 2-2 against Webb , Carthage , nixa and Joplin

I remember many years ago after Saverino at Rockhurst was asked after the game if he had work team running the veer to prepare for webb and he says " If we could run the veer like that , WE would be running it"

Jackson offense looked like they were playing in slow motion. Never saw a QB and RB stand together in the backfield that long deciding what they were going to do. Not how I have ever seen the RPO executed

I wasn't exactly impressed with the QB running but kid has an arm and was able to get it in tight areas a few times.

Jackson QB had a nice arm, but not much speed. Running backs were slow and big - their side-to-side run speed was the level of a 7th grade team. O-line was big and slow. After listening to the Jackson faithful comparing this Jackson team to an NFL team, I guess I was expecting something a bit more impressive from the other side of the state.

I still say Carthage was the best team the Webbies have played this year.

Carthage was certainly better than Jackson.

I would agree with Carthage being better than Jackson. No disrespect toward the Indians.

I won’t pick Webb and won’t pick against. After seeing this team a couple times midseason (and by Rod’s own admission as quoted in the Globe) they were not a very good football team. If he pulls off this major upset Saturday, any affected with leprosy should ignore the MSHSAA rule, go on the field after the final whistle and see Coach Rod right away.

The way Jackson struggled stopping the run and the option, I think Lebanon would have drove them crazy. I don't know if Lebanon would have been able to stop them though.

I don’t believe Nixa will miss a step…they will be right in center of the mix - trending up.

I ended up making it over there. Jackson's crowd looked comparable to what Joplin, Carthage or maybe CJ in a good year would bring. So pretty good given their 300 mile trip, but not like I was expecting.

In the second half Webb was playing conservative trying to burn the clock but couldn't score so it gave Jackson an opening, which they came very close to seizing but Webb's defense was impressive when it mattered most. I think Jackson had 2 turnovers on downs pretty close to the goal line which was the score difference.

Overall it was a great afternoon for a playoff game!
