Jackson/Webb ???

This thread reminds me of last year when everyone couldn’t wait to see Jackson/Webb playing in the final. Then Webb ran into Platte County. Oops!

Hey, folks, there still are quarterfinal games to play.

Well when the team makes it to at least the quarters and in most cases past that literally every year since what, 1999.... it can be easy to look past teams even good ones. I'm hoping to make to over there to watch Webb and Lebanon.

I went last year and Lebanon gave Webb a tough game for 2 quarters but it fell apart rapidly after halftime. Smallest Webb crowd I had seen in a long time.... it was cold and raining.

I do think Lebanon is better this year and Webb is maybe(?) not as good.

I'll side with the Webbies on this one. Even we at CJ complain about it when the home side of a stadium we visit dont fill out the homesde seats. If that happens, then complain - especially when you bring 1,000 and there are 100 visitors seats and another 500 sit empty on the homeside but they wont allow visitors to sit there.

Webb fills out there home side during playoff games, and then some, so I think the fine folks of Jackson will just have to tuff it out and stand for 2 hours - lol If it helps ill be standing on the visitors side as well.
There are no reserved seats per MSHSAA for playoff games?????

Looks like Jackson fans will be standing on the visitor's side on Saturday (poor babies)

That’s the difference between Webb City and Jackson. Jackson always shows the upmost respect to anyone that comes to the pit. But, I really think that Webb City has an outstanding respectful program unlike what you are portraying them.

Problem will be having enough seating for the massive Jackson Indians’ fan base overflowing the visitor stands. Jackson fans commonly outnumber their opponent’s crowd. (Not that it will happen in WC, of course.)
It will look just like Troy Buchanan did today.

Roderique is about as respectful and humble as any HC you will find.

Agree with that Top and I think the Webb fan base gets a bad rap because of a few keyboard warriors who run their mouth. I have sat with Webb fans when they were visitors and I have sat with visitors when Webb was the home team. I observed very few instances where they were rude or inhospitable whether home or away. Also, they are hands down the most knowledgeable fans about the game that you will find anywhere.

Jackson is a bit of a matchup nightmare for just about anyone . Their offense reminds me of a mash up of Joplin and Carthage ....one play they are running QB power with 3 guys pulling and leading the way ...the next they are holding the ball in the belly of the rb for 3 sec then popping a pass deep . Lots of rpo action witch is a form of triple option in a way . It would be a hard offense to run honestly but I think it's even harder to defend it . Their qb is accurate and makes good decisions . Line is big and physical. #5 and #11 are really good wr . #15 rb is slow but he's a load . You almost have to go man on the outside and hope your d line wins so linebackers can make the tackle . With alot of those rpo plays ..I don't understand how they don't get flagged for illegal man down field on a regular basis unless they only zone block . Jackson is really good and probably the only way to beat them in long sustained drives . They don't strike me as a team you wanna get in a shootout with. You gotta win the time of possession or get a big lead or it's gonna be rough on your d

I don’t know of many teams that can best Jackson in a shootout for sure. Their D doesn’t necessarily look all that impressive, I think they can run on them. That QB though, boy that’ll be tough. Webb will have to beat 2nd best QB behind that Carthage kid. Having to go through the 2 best in the State is a daunting challenge.

Jackson has had three great seasons, congrats to them. But Webb has made 19 semis in 22 seasons. Roderique has always been a humble nice individual when ive been around him. His record speaks for itself. Should be a good game. Good luck to both
History is just that - History. Saturday is the only day that matters now.

Still- who is Roderique?

I think Jackson’s run defense will surprise you, especially as the game progresses.

They have gave up 108 pts in 12 games. They practice every day against prob the best offense in the state the last 3 years. They are well coached all three phases of the game. Obv they will see some diff things from Webb, but I would bet they will play well.

He’s telling the truth that a Roderique owns the microbrewery across from the praying hands in Webb City.

Is he also the coach? I know nothing about the town, school, etc. Only thing I do know is the great football history.

I’ve seen teams try slowing down the game to no avail. Maybe they only end up slowing down their defense, too. Jackson moves so quickly on offense opposing defenses don’t have time to think or even get into position. Only teams that are really well prepared by their coaching staffs can keep up. Webb is one of those teams. But if they players going both ways, Jackson will just wear them down.
TOP means nothing when you’re playing Jackson.

If Webb City does not have a passing plan with their running plan - game over. Seckman had 2 players that averaged 9+ ypg and the other 11+ ypg with a very good front line. Jackson D is extremely tough up front on defense.

He is arguably the most successful high school football coach in Missouri history. (Titles, wins and won/loss pct)
I believe his current win percentage is number 2 in the country, it was 2 yrs ago. Webb fans can correct me but i think he is 314 and 30 in his career at webb.

Don't think he is at 314. Had a ceremony at home after his 300th win earlier this year

I think Webb fans get a bad rap because there are so many of them and with numbers (and winning) you have more of the bad apples. And with social media now even the mild mannered fans rub people's nerves with all the celebratory posting of this win or that streak statistic or just a general reminder how proud they are to be a cardinal (even thought they only moved there from Seneca or wherever 2 years ago). People, at least in this area just get fatigued hearing from Webb fans about winning. I doubt the rest of the state really cares much about Webb City. Heck I got tired of hearing about it even when I lived there.

I spent some time with a few friends, most from Webb over the weekend and they don't seem concerned about Jackson in the slightest. Maybe they know something I don't. Said their record is misleading due to their 'cupcake' schedule and they team they just beat (summit) isn't good "at all". Said something to the effect that whole side of the bracket is full of weak loser teams.

I also went to the game vs Lebanon and some of the crap I heard there makes me think there are more than a few fine folks in Cardinal nation that could benefit from losing a few more games before getting back on track!

I was there Webb looked beatable. If Lebanon was even remotely competent on offense? They wouldn’t have won. If a hitch n pitch wasn’t working they couldn’t do a thing.
