Gun restriction vs. Abortion

It's legal. In the eyes of this great nation, that makes it right. I'm not addressing this topic any more. I will be happy to discuss ridding the world of guns any time you wish, just keep the two topics separate. Get your own thread.

So, abortion was wrong when it was illegal but right now that it's legal?

Slavery was once very legal so it must have been right too.

I'm sure you do, people are usually very cavalier about sharing their elective abortion stories... *sarcasm off*

Call me a liar if you wish but people who have abortions usually end up with great remorse and share their experience. None have ever claimed they had pregnancy complications. ALL have said it seemed like the smart thing to do but regret it beyond belief.

So why all the concern now? Things are better but worry has increased.
Not true at all - go look at public polling on crime. Crime was a major political issue 25 years ago. It generally isn't in 2015. Many people used to consider crime the single most important issue facing our country - more important than the economy or foreign relations. Almost no one would say that now.

Look at the initiatives pushed in 1992-1996 by Clinton. No one in either party today is talking about anything like that. You could never have had a debate about reducing mandatory minimums in 1994 - we're talking about significantly reshaping the bill signed into law by President Bill Clinton.
