De Smet 35 - Nixa 20 (FINAL)

This ****ing clown again

Welcome to MO HSFB Championship night #1 on MOSports!

Pretty good game and a decent showing for a young Nixa team. DeSmet is an impressive program. You don't hear as much about them as you do the other "EVIL" StL programs, perhaps because they're C6 and a different demographic, but if there is anyone in the know here I'd love to get the DL on their staff, dynamic, etc.

Besides the other obvious trolling I get the biggest kick out of the Cantwell shit talk, like Blinded the Webb City guy has been riding that kids ass since he was 13 talking about how unimpressive he is. Absolute joker material. Kids a once in a lifetime prospect but he ain't gonna be out there like Prime Wilt Chamberlin dropping 100 on 6'2 dudes. Enjoy the growth, particularly for folks down south this is something you won't see to often. Just reminds me of the time many years ago when I sat in the crowd at Monett and heard how overrated and unimpressive Ezekiel Elliott was. Like Zeke I think Cantwell will play for a few yrs on Sunday, I think that's just impossible to ignore.

SWMO has had the #1 or 2 player in the country TWICE in the last little over a decade...not many regions in the country can say that.

Holy moly! (I used my thing!) Isn't Cantwell only a sophomore? Cut him some slack
A few things some may not fully understand. Cantwell once he gets high level college coaching is going to be difficult to deal with. Proper leverage, feet and hand placement, and flexibility with that frame and athletic ability- yeah he can play on Saturday's at a very high level for sure. But maybe he bypasses that and starts his Olympic pursuit. Agree - making way to many early judgements on him based on small sample size.

Solid summary! DeSmet kinda came out of nowhere I saw their Week 4 game vs. CBC in particular thought no way this team goes anywhere this year. The huge bracket break they got in my opinion is one nobody seems to talk about: Liberty upsetting Blue Springs South. That would have been a very tough matchup for the Spartans but doesn't matter kudos to them on to 2025.......................

Another C6 final note how many years since no KC metro team made the final?

Certain parts of the St. Louis media were high on De Smet. I saw them ranked #1 preseason by a St. Louis based media guy and that's been brought up again. If you're paying attention, De Smet has a lot of college bound talent but it took them awhile to gel this season. They finally peaked in Week 9 beating Edwardsville 42-19 and never looked back. Yes, they did get a fortunate draw in districts and state (Rock Bridge then Liberty), but they played like a top 5 team in the state regardless of class. Their play calling on offense was so much better than what it was against MICDS and CBC earlier in the year.

Hats off to them.

Don’t let PeePeeCompete see this. He’ll tell you that DeSmet was the 6th best STL team at best.

I could see Duff being very deserving of the hype. Even a few of their early wins didn't look so good. Yes I try to watch all the replays I can but too many games/teams to see them all.

De Smet had the personnel on offense where they could be whoever they wanted to be. They played most of the season without a huge offensive lineman and then lost tight end Liam Russo (NIU commit) to injury in the quarterfinals. Spartans were battle-tested and had depth. That's a dangerous combo with let alone plenty of talent on both sides of the ball.

How many people live in Desmet?

No he is a Junior and the number 2 or 3 alleged best player in his class. He’s up for Gatorade National Player of the year.

When you play Joplin/Webb and other terrible SWMO schools with no talent and are poorly coached, you can look great. Titan Davis embarrassed him tonight.
LOL no doubt STL private schools load up on mercenary talent ($$$) in order to immorally cheat and tip the competitive scales in their favor. It is amazing to me the skullduggery of these institutions but I guess Some religions are founded upon that type of lies and deception.

But to say that STL private schools are better coached is laughable at best. With the talent discrepancy that the Privates acquire their margin of victory should be 4-6 scores easily if they are moderately coached well and more so if they are well coached. In truth Privates tend to gloss over lousy coaching and such by just loading up with Renegade talent.

Those private institutions should be ashamed of themselves for being so despicable and corrupt. I guess you would root for a Semi-Pro squad of adults to beat up on a Junior High team.
