Coaching openings

What happened? He was only there a couple years and did a pretty good job.
Couldn't tell you. I've heard from a few people it's a pretty toxic, unrealistic place, but that's third or fourth hand information, so I can't say for sure.

Anybody heard any names for Hannibal?

Have they hired at Adrian?
i haven't heard if they have.
2 head coaches in 34 years. Not sure how many schools can show that type of consistency.
Heard a big name mentioned with the job. We shall see.

Congrats to Matt Cochran on his retirement.

Russellville again.
Won't this be their 4th coach already and didn't they finally just play the first varsity season this year?

thought California had a good year in 2020...
OK, checked it and it was 6-4 - still a lot better than what they'd done the past couple of years.

Outside of upsetting Boonville, California beat up on some bad teams - Clinton, Fulton, Osage, Versailles and Eldon. 7 wins between all 5 of them.

Blair Oaks and the Boone county schools are just dominating now. Probably its time for the Tri-County to split up. California and the Lake area schools pick up Warsaw and Clinton. The others merge or pick up some NCMC schools like Fulton and Mexico.

They was not saying that in the 80's when Osage and Eldon was running the tri county. Now that it has become hard, they want to kick the good teams out?

I thought California and Warsaw were ruling the Tri-County back then, but I'm probably in the wrong decade.

The Tri-County in the Mid to late 80's was run by California, Eldon & Osage. Until Coach Morrow came and turned Warsaw into a power.

It was not until 90's when Coach Morrow turned Warsaw football into the powerhouse. Although Warsaw and California both made it to the elite 8 in basketball in '89. Warsaw upset Versailles in District finals that year.

Morrow left Adrian prior to the 1986 football season.

I want to see all the schools do well. I think Blair Oaks, Boonville, So Boone and Hallsville with Mexico, Fulton and Moberly would be a great conference and fit. I think California, Eldon, Osage, Versailles, Warsaw and Clinton would fit well and be great conference. Kind of be a boost for all the schools IMO.

I guess I was influenced by watching several of those Warsaw-California battles. Two really well coached teams that could adjust on the fly and individual techniques were honed to a fine point. I remember one game I watched the line play almost exclusively. Don't know that I've seen many games at that level with such hitting on every snap.

Tipton ran the conference in '87. Undefeated that year!

Any news on front runners for these jobs open? Park Hill will obviously be a big hire, I will be interested to see if they stay in house and hire the OC who has been an HC if I'm not mistaken. What about Grandview and Van Horn?

Those Tipton kids were always tougher than nails. They just didn't usually have the numbers to compete for a full season against the larger schools in that conference. Best thing for their program was leaving the conference and they were very relevant for a number of years in the playoffs after they left.
