"I'm still waiting to hear from our prophetic picker who had Eminence making a run and their thoughts on them vs. Advance?"

I don't know if you were referring to me but I did have Eminence possibly making a run. I really like how they play and health was a determining factor to their record. As we all know at a small school, one injury can derail a season but the great teams find a way to stay afloat. I believe Coach McBride does a great job with his boys and I believe he will have to coach those boys of his up something special to take the sting out of the Hornets. I believe Advance is a 10+ point favorite and would probably win 7 out of 10 times but to Danny O'Shea has a quote for that! I really believe this game will come down to the McBride vs Mayo match-up. These are two extremely talented big guys that do more than bulldoze people. They both play hard and if Eminence can contain Mayo from controlling the paint as a scorer and a distributor then they have a shot. Advance will want to do what they do best and put the pedal to the metal, they are really good at it too! I do feel it is Advance's year with the Weubker kid being a senior leader with Mayo. Vermillion is a handful on the perimeter, penetrating and passing to their role guys that are playing at a high level at the right time. Eminence wins if Dyer and the guards handle pressure and close out well on the Hornet shooters and McBride can defend Mayo without fouling and keeping him under 15 and 8. If Eminence wins this game the score will be around 58-54 but If Advance does I see it as a 75-65 type of game. As I said I don't know if you were referring to me but there is my .02! Can't wait until Saturday!

I believe it was you! Thanks for the insight!

Updates: North Andrew pulls away late for a 13 point victory, Walnut Grove wins in overtime behind Logan thomazins 41, and after being down 9 at half, Advance figures it out and wins by 17. Glasgow and meadville yet to play.

So, the board has been pretty quiet...

What are your Semi Final and Final picks and approximate scores? (and why if you are willing)
I don't feel comfortable making a pick without watching teams, but I think Walnut Grove may get the title this year.

Any team that averages shooting nearly 40 3's a game at a near 40% clip will be tough to beat. They also get a lot of transition baskets because of their defense. For a team with most players sitting around 6'0, they play longer and bigger than they seem.

I also think what separates them from Walnut Grove's teams of the recent past is that they seem to be able to play in the half court and the full court. Pace of game is not as big of a deal for them as it was the last few years.

Last June I picked North Andrew to win it this year. Gonna stick with that.

This looks to be a competitive and exciting final four. I think in both games the styles clash a little bit. Advance and Walnut Grove are going to want to push teams into a track meet. Glasgow is a grind it out type and I hear North Andrew will look to pound the ball down low as well just maybe at a quicker pace that Glasgow (correct me if I am wrong there folks from NA). If I were to pick I would say Advance and WG in the title game with one of them maybe hitting a 100!! It will be a great weekend of ball but I have to go with Advance to win it over a game WG team.

I have watched Advance only once and it was on video, but I think their lack of physicality with guard play will hurt them if they and WG meet to play each other. WG looks like a school that has football with the way their players are built. They are quick, strong, and very athletic. Greenfield is a school with football and I will have to say that it looked the other way around in regards to guards and the physical play in their district championship game. I did like Advance's athleticism though in what I saw. It could be a fun potential matchup.
