Class 1 Hoops...Predictions, top 10 contenders, and Can't Miss Matchups

A couple of good semi final games today as Advance wins by 10 and Walnut Grove survives a comeback by Glasgow.

Any picks for the championship?
Advance advantages: team quickness (slight), post scoring ability, more than one feature scorer. Not dependent on 3 pointer to win. Better press than walnut grove

Walnut Grove advantages: Depth, better half court defense than Advance, more shooters

Both teams usually want to play fast, they are physical, and are big time hungry and big time competitors.

I don't think you can rightly pick a favorite. If walnut grove shoots the three well, they probably win. They definitely live by and die by the 3. Wg shoots near 35 3s a game...over a thousand now on the year.

I'm going to take Walnut Grove in a game under 5 points.

Credit to walnut grove in the comeback, but Advance I thought lost their identity late and took several ill advised shots. They played much more conservative than normal down the stretch. Their situational execution was pretty poor.

So as the season is now complete, we can now talk quickly about favorites for Next Season.

North Andrew and Walnut Grove have a great chance to be back next year. However, Worth County returns everybody next year in the NW. I think my early favorites in the other quarters will be St. Elizabeth, Meadville in NE, and Advance has a chance, but much more likely to see SCC this next season out of the south east.

What say you? Any early top 10 predictions or challengers we haven't really heard about?

From a ole geezer that normally takes in 200+ games per season,
I enjoyed all the chatter on the small school teams.
The C-1 championship game was a very entertaining back n forth
contest til the last tick..
And the North Andrew display of good basic fundamentals
ball was refreshing to watch..

Now this weekend the big boyz n girlz invade the Zou with a totally
different approach to the same game..
