Cardinal Ritter 0 - 7?

Stole this from the Mizzou site - one posters opinion but sounds reasonable:

Fired Coach was on KSDK last night. Chastened, humbled by a huge mistake and the hurt it’s caused to people he loves and who love him.

To his credit, he manned up and came into the studio for a live interview. Not easy or fun.

Sometimes we get too cute.

did he admit he was unethical or say it was a “mistake”.

call me a nit picker, but to me a “mistake” is writing down the wrong jersey number by accident or having the wrong personnel on the field for a play call.

cheating is Intentional. cheating Is cheating. It’s a crime in the game of HS football. It’s unethical. Saying we made a mistake over and over is easy and cheap. But you didn’t. Say you cheated. Say you deserved to be fired.

Correct. Penney beat Valle in Class 1 in 2009 and then they moved up to class 2 the next year and won that as well, beating Gregory’s Maplewood team.

The move now is for him to take off the 2020 season and them pop back up at one of the irrelevant large schools in Chesterfield or St Charles . Or better yet one of the Illinois schools.

Makes ya wonder now if there was anything shady going on while he was at Maplewood. I mean they were dominant for a 4-5 year stretch. And now they’ve folded the program??

Public Relations 101 — when you find yourself in a hole, stop talking.

This guy went out and did interviews after this fiasco and just made it worse by using vague and dodgy language, referring to the matter only as “mistakes were made” and generally coming across as the guy coaching a team of fourth graders at a random AAU tournament wearing a Go Pro on his head.

There’s been a lot of this being said. Does anyone actually KNOW this or is it rumor at this point.
The Post was adamant they discovered it. Was that to protect a source?

My buddy is sure that LN knew it when they scouted CR in Chicago. But from there has heard three different versions of events how it become public 7 weeks later.

Okay. I’ve been hearing it a lot as well. Some people want to deflect to Lutheran North’s reporting it like that would make the shenanigan any less despicable.

Still can't imagine why, if in fact LN did report it, they would not have waited until CR had played their first district game.

Eh thats how a lot of Public schools are. Up and down unless you’re a really large one.

The Run with Maplewood went hand and hand with Bryant Allen being there. Maybe the greatest 3 sport athlete in the history of the state.

1. Who killed Jimmy Hoffa?
2. What actually happened to Amelia Earhart?
3. What is the fate of the Ark of The Covenant?
4. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop?
5. Who exposed the Ritter illegal use of a suspended player?

Which Class 2/3 public schools recruited double-digit D1 talent to their high school?

I'll even let you pick public schools from the 100+ years of Missouri high school seasons. Which Class 2/3 public schools did what Lutheran North, Trinity, and Cardinal Ritter are doing just this season?

I'll wait.

And while we're here, we shouldn't pretend that CBC, DeSmet, Rockhurst, Valle, MICDS, John Burroughs, St. Pius X (KC), etc. are any different. None should be allowed to compete outside of a private school class.
Maybe not to the extent that CR is accused, but you know it happens. It has happened to me. Your wait is over.

What you know about about a STL school called LIFT FOR LIFE? Hearing they may be next Super small team.

Never heard of them before today.

I believe he started and watched over a program that took all the "students" that couldn't get along in other schools. They all just happen to be big and fast athletes. Go Figure.

???? In 2011 the week before the semifinals game against Lamar, Maplewood’s coach (Gregory?) was fired and some players suspended. The rumor I heard at the time was Maplewood was using some ineligible players???

We don't need more classes to do this. Once the privates/charters are moved to the PC class, the publics can go to 5 classes. There will still be 6 11-man classes. Problem solved. You are welcome.

Or how about schools with black athletes have their own state? Noone cares about playing Westminster, Priory or Valle Catholic.

They could have a corruption bowl for the STL Private School Title. Games will be played with no jersey numbers so no one can get busted.

points system used to rank teams:

Coach fired from previous job +10

I’m really not keen on black athletes having their own state playoffs.

Can we end the racism accusation tripe, please? That’s not a factor and it’s a cop out.

Its is a factor and I HATE it. Its absolutely disgusting. I've been watching these threads for years and the same people complain about the same schools over and over again. This thread has over 15,000 views because for some reason this forum loves to bash anything related to Lutheran North, Trinity, Cardinal Ritter, CBC etc.

Lift for Life does not have a field, so all of their games are away games. Kids also have to practice in parks in the area or across the river at the Kersee center. Very limited budget and the definition of doing more with less. Coach Bevis and his staff do a great job.

Coach Bevis was fired last year for a similar reason as Coach Porter at Roosevelt. When coaches care about their kids in STL public schools...they get canned lol. That's just another reason families send their kids to the Cardinal Ritters etc

I have no clue. What I do know is that the investigation was sparked BY Lutheran North. Cardinal Ritter and Lutheran North's Head Coaches are like best friends. That's the only backlash I see happening.

You may want to check what you actually know. Honestly, I have heard three different schools mentioned as the ones that did it. I wouldn't put their names out unless I was certain the information was valid. LN keeps coming up because people reach a certain way about the way they are building their program and they are trying to tarnish their rep. LN was looking forward to playing Ritter in districts and getting the chance to avenge the earlier loss especially with their full team intact. There are other schools that have a lot more to gain with the demise of the Ritter than LN.
