Cardinal Ritter 0 - 7?

Or maybe unlike the cheating apologists on this board, the archdiocese recognizes this isn't ok.

If Cardinal Ritter is smart, Trey Porter is looking for work and has done a bang up job at Roosevelt.

no I agree its harsh but it needed to be done. Its really disgusting what happened and it takes a whole bunch of arrogance and disrespect for order to even attempt such a thing.

Hats off to the decision makers.
Sends a clear message.
If,in fact, they have fired those responsible and have cancelled the season then I will be the first to stand and applaud their decision. I really feel badly for the young men affected by the actions of some uncaring, and obviously not too intelligent, adults whom they were entrusted to. This is a very very tough life lesson for young men to endure but hopefully they have learned to think for themselves and do the right thing in the future.

I'm hearing CR gone found 2nd ineligible. Cancelled season. Game time gotta go. But that's the word

Question to BP and the rest of St Louis crew.
What will the CR players do next season? Will they be eligible? Mass exodus to Lutheran North or Trinity (spell check?)???

Trinity done with admitting new high profile kids. Juice was not worth the squeeze. Issues off the field.

well as long as they have football next year why leave? Because they’ll officially be an 0-9 team they’ll still in Class 2 and its no more Blair Oaks/Dominate Lamar.

still a talented team IF they can replace the QB, who is the best in the school’s history, they should compete.
I would like to see them hire the Roosevelt ex-Coach.

What this will effect is the incoming freshman considering the school. This is a very bad look its been the talk of the City all week.

Nope all cheating STL schools are class 3 or higher next season. It’s already been decided, sorry bub, Will beat each other out of state title hopes.

from my understanding, you’ll move up with post season success. Ritter wont have any. The True Class they all should be in is 4 or 5 all things being fair.

What Lutheran North is doing to Farmington tonight and what they will do to Chaminade next week will be ugly. They should be battling it out with the Webb/Ladues in Class 4

If the Jackson kid has been suspended 8 games, will that have to take place next season when he is a senior? If CR had played out the season then obviously some of that suspension could have been served this year, but now that is off the table.

Otherwise, most of his senior year is wiped out. This is a disaster for the kid. Can he move to a different state and be eligible to play all games next year or will he still have to serve the suspension?

good luck with Webb. You’ll need it

I wanted to be modest but they’d probably smoke this years Webb. The 2017 Lutheran North (Lost to Lamar 7-6), 2019 LN, 2018 Trinity, and 2019 CR are like the final forms of the super privates.

Like Desmet beat Chaminade 32-31, now watch next week what happens when Chaminade plays North.

Webb would be comparable comp

Ritter's season is over and all of the coaches have been terminated. The AD was allowed to retire with integrity (as opposed to being fired). He'll be reassigned like a priest. MSHSAA didn't do it. The Archdiocese did.

Shame on MSHSAA for not doing the obvious.

I've heard good things about the AD. He an old successful basketball coach. Just did not have control of the fb program.

Curious do thee coaches still have teaching jobs at the school or did they get fired from those too?

What’s your take on this, VarsityStLBlues? Aren’t you a Lutheran N, Trinity or Ritter guy?

I support what's right. I don't bash anyone just to bash them. I have no horse in this race. Coach Gregory did a lot for his program and the kids at CRCP. He made a VERY dumb mistake that changes the fate of a lot of other people. Hopefully he learns from this and many other coaches who have been cheating that just haven't been caught yet.

Ok.
Just thought your insights could be enlightening.

For example, is this over with Ritter or will there be a backlash?

I have no clue. What I do know is that the investigation was sparked BY Lutheran North. Cardinal Ritter and Lutheran North's Head Coaches are like best friends. That's the only backlash I see happening.

Hate come on, nobody hates private schools, we hate how they can skirt the rules. There was a time when the private schools had maybe one or two great players filling their roster and for the most part you could balance it out. Now we are seeing some small St Louis private schools stocking their rosters with more 4 and 5 star recruits than a lot of D1 colleges. The push to get talent has created a breeding ground for corruption and rule breaking.
And public schools do it, too. Not just privates.

Which Class 2/3 public schools recruited double-digit D1 talent to their high school?

I'll even let you pick public schools from the 100+ years of Missouri high school seasons. Which Class 2/3 public schools did what Lutheran North, Trinity, and Cardinal Ritter are doing just this season?

I'll wait.

And while we're here, we shouldn't pretend that CBC, DeSmet, Rockhurst, Valle, MICDS, John Burroughs, St. Pius X (KC), etc. are any different. None should be allowed to compete outside of a private school class.

I think the archdiocese needs to look at what they’re doing at these prep schools. I’m not sure when St. Louis Catholics donate to the archdiocese that it’s so a non catholic kid can go there because he’s good at football.

you dont have to be Catholic to attend a catholic high school....obviously. Nor do you have to pay more.

I feel bad for the teams they played and used an ineligible player against. There are kids on both sides of this, The Ritter coaches, admin, and players knew they were cheating. Their actions affected way more kids than the ones they coached. That is who we should feel bad for.

I wood be interested in some cliffs of this interview.
Stole this from the Mizzou site - one posters opinion but sounds reasonable:

Fired Coach was on KSDK last night. Chastened, humbled by a huge mistake and the hurt it’s caused to people he loves and who love him.

To his credit, he manned up and came into the studio for a live interview. Not easy or fun.

Sometimes we get too cute.
