I don't necessarily agree with his stance on Tariffs. They are a complicated topic because the the intent is good, keeping jobs in America, but also not realistic. People vote to raise minimum wage and companies have to pay workers more just to get applicants that they can't afford the labor compared to other countries. Like most other things, there are trickle down effects from one thing to the other.

In our industry the cost for American made fittings are substantially more than foreign made. Therefore most people use foreign unless we have to be BAA or BABA compliant. Which BABA is getting pushed more and more.

There is no one-to-one ratio of presidential policy to economic performance. It is a factor, of course, but, as anyone who has done even a first year undergraduate class on economics would tell you, it's not a significant factor in the short-term and even then it's only indirect in the long-term. I know that this doesn't fit a simple worldview, but not much actually does.
