Tariffs work

Tariffs are only effective when they are so large that China or Mexico would be unable to pass the cost on to US consumers because their product would not be price competitive.

You take a $40,000 car coming in from Mexico and put a 25% tariff on it and price goes to $50,000 and nobody is going to buy

No. This is not, nor has it ever been how capitalism works. If it costs $50,000 to buy a foreign car that normally costs $40,000, the manufacturers of domestic cars (a.k.a. cars made with parts from all over the world and assembled here and abroad) will raise the prices of their vehicles maybe not to match, but close, and low enough to say it still costs less than a foreign car (a.k.a. cars made with parts from all over the world and assembled here and abroad).

Class 1 First vs. Last media rankings of season

Alright, I decided to compare the first released media rankings to the most recent to see who gained/lost the most positions. Who was a disappointment and who was a surprise. The first rankings are on the left and the most recent are on the right.

Class 1
1. Marionville (6), 1-0, 87 1. St. Vincent (Get these private schools out of class 1....)
2. Adrian (3), 1-0, 75 2. Marionville
3. St. Vincent, 1-0, 73 3. Adrian
4. Tipton, 1-0, 57 4. Tipton
5. Marceline, 1-0, 46 5. Ash Grove
6. Windsor, 1-0, 36 6. Windsor
7. Milan, 0-1, 32 7. Van-Far
8. Van Far, 1-0, 30 8. Westran
9. North Platte, 0-1, 29 9. Milan
10. Ash Grove, 1-0, 9 10. Salisbury

Biggest Disappointments - Marceline is the only one that you would say is a disappointment here. They have always been a really solid to really good team and this just was not their year.
Biggest Surprises - Nothing on these is really surprising. I dont consider a team going from NR to 8th as a surprise so no surprises here.
North Platte going from playing for the title in CoMo a year ago to 1-8 is my shocker of the year to date.

Trump just needs a tie

Yep. Misjudged the genius. Can’t wait to see how his tariffs make us great again.

Or how the policies of the administration before will, as every economist will tell us. It's the most asinine thing in the world that politicians of all stripes take any credit for the economy of their administrative term. At absolute ideal best, all they can claim, barring a massive natural disaster or worldwide pandemic or actual coup d'etat, is that maybe the last few months of their last year might have been affected by their policies in that term. I'd like to think that people are widely just uninformed on this, but I don't think that is the truth. I think people just do what people do and ignore any inconvenience that doesn't support their political persuasion.

Class 2 First vs. Last media rankings of season

Alright, I decided to compare the first released media rankings to the most recent to see who gained/lost the most positions. Who was a disappointment and who was a surprise. The first rankings are on the left and the most recent are on the right.

Class 2
1. Lamar---------------------------------------1. Fair Grove
2. Valle Catholic-------------------------------2. Valle Catholic
3. Fair Grove---------------------------------3. Warsaw
4. Bowling Green------------------------------4. Bowling Green
5. Lafayette County---------------------------5. Lafayette County
6. East Buchanan-----------------------------6. Mid-Buchanan
7. Ava-----------------------------------------7. Caruthersville
8. South Shelby-------------------------------8. Brookfield
9. Caruthersville------------------------------9. Mountain View-Liberty
10. Mid Buchanan----------------------------10. Pembroke Hill

Biggest Disappointments - Lamar going from number 1 to NR is the same that happened to Liberty North in class 6. Thats obviously as disappointing as it gets so no real argument for anyone else. Ava was disappointing as well but not to the level of Lamar. Although I will say that Lamar has a chance to make some noise and we will see how they compare in the next couple weeks.
Biggest Surprises - The only correct answer is Warsaw. Maxpreps has them at number 1 and they were NR at the beginning of the season. Really cool to see them have some success and I'm interested to see how they stack up against the other top teams. They already beat the number 5 team on this list so they have proven to be a really good team. Worthy of number 1 or 3? We will see.

Playoff week 2 updated Class 5 Cal preps predictions

Pretty stadium, but that is not near enough seats (nor parking) for Fort vs. Pius. it needs to be twice this large for what is coming tomorrow night. A lot of coaches and fans in the metro are interested in this game on top of all the students and regular fans of both schools. I think parking will be a major issue. Hope the rain holds off. https://www.homes.com/school/kansas-city-mo/st-pius-x-high-school/v9dtwgsjkzy0k/

Class 3 First vs. Last media rankings of season

Alright, I decided to compare the first released media rankings to the most recent to see who gained/lost the most positions. Who was a disappointment and who was a surprise. The first rankings are on the left and the most recent are on the right.

Class 3
1. Blair Oaks------------------------------------1. Blair Oaks
2. Seneca-------------------------------------2. Seneca
3. Maryville-------------------------------------3. Dexter
4. Lift for Life-----------------------------------4. Borgia
5. Mt. Vernon---------------------------------5. Strafford
6. Park Hills Central---------------------------6. Boonville
7. Southern Boone-----------------------------7. Mt. Vernon
8. Chillicothe-----------------------------------8. John Burroughs
9. Dexter----------------------------------------9. Maryville
10. St. Francis Borgia-------------------------10. Mountain Grove

Biggest Disappointments - This one has to be Lift for Life. Going from 4th to NR doesn't seem like fun to me. I do think they have a change at surprising some people in the playoffs based on a couple of their recent results. Park Hills Central, Southern Boone and Chillicothe also dropped out of the top 10 though I'm not sure those are huge surprises.
Biggest Surprises - Strafford went from NR to 5th and Boonville from NR to 6th. Both teams have had surprisingly good seasons and have a chance at making some noise (well Strafford does, sorry Boonville). Dexter also has to be a bit of a surprise based on rankings. From 9th to 3rd might not be as big of a jump as NR to 5th but there is usually a huge difference between the 3rd best and 9th best teams.

Class 4 First vs. Last media rankings of season

Alright, I decided to compare the first released media rankings to the most recent to see who gained/lost the most positions. Who was a disappointment and who was a surprise. The first rankings are on the left and the most recent are on the right.

Class 4
1. Kearney----------------------------------------1. Lutheran North
2. Lutheran North-------------------------------2. Kearney
3. Smithville-------------------------------------3. Kirksville
4. Hannibal--------------------------------------4. Smithville
5. Hillsboro--------------------------------------5. Hannibal
6. Pleasant Hill----------------------------------6. Warrenton
7. Mexico-----------------------------------------7. Warrensburg
8. Warrensburg----------------------------------8. Pleasant Hill
9. Nevada--------------------------------------9. Nevada
10. Kirksville------------------------------------10. Savannah

Biggest Disappointments - For this one I guess it has to be Hillsboro or Mexico because they are the only ones that fell out of the top 10. Its surprising to me that as weak as we think class 4 is, only two teams changed. Hillsboro going from top 5 to NR has to be a huge disappointment overall.
Biggest Surprises - I'd say this one is easily Kirksville for a couple of reasons. They went from being ranked 10th to 3rd then lost in first round. Surprising all the way around.

Class 5 First vs. Last media rankings of season

Alright, I decided to compare the first released media rankings to the most recent to see who gained/lost the most positions. Who was a disappointment and who was a surprise. The first rankings are on the left and the most recent are on the right.

Class 5
1. Cardinal Ritter------------------------------------1. Cardinal Ritter
T2. Platte County----------------------------------2. Platte County
T2. Webb City------------------------------------3. St. Pius X
4. Jefferson City Helias---------------------------4. Helias
5. St. Pius X----------------------------------------5. Eureka
6. Carthage--------------------------------------6. Carthage
7. Camdenton,------------------------------------7. Branson
8. Capital City--------------------------------------8. Cape Central
T9. Eureka------------------------------------------9. Ft. Zumwalt North
T9. Grain Valley-----------------------------------10. Hazelwood East

Biggest Disappointments - The obvious answer is Webb City. I'm not sure if the writing was on the wall in the preseason but I would imagine very few could have predicted the season that Webb was about to have. Camdenton and Cap City also fell out of the top ten. Camdenton probably got a decent amount of votes because of reputation and I would say they are a fringe top 15 team at this point. Capital City probably still has a chance to prove themselves to be a top 10 team. Time will tell.
Biggest Surprises - I guess this one has to be Branson but I think the jury is still out about how legit they actually are. Again, just like with class 6, the bottom half of the top ten is very different than the first rankings but that will probably be the case for each class.

Why didn't the Dems steal this election too?

Crack down on Mail in Ballots and Harvesting is a possibility. Maybe that explains the 14 million more votes that Biden got in 2020 and Kamala didn't get in 2024.... just a theory. But strange that Biden raked in 81 million votes and Kamala only got 67 million. Trump got 74 million votes in 2020 and 72 million this go around. Lot of people must of decided to set this one out for REASONS???

Dude. Not everything is a conspiracy. Few people were jazzed about Kamala.
