Park Hill 74, Nixa 70

2025 KC Northland boys hoops ain't just about the NKCSD who is killing it again this season. Trojans have played a solid slate this is their signature win of this season to date. While I still think Oak Park is far the best not just around these parts but possibly all of MO Park Hill will get two cracks at the Northmen on consecutive Fridays (Feb 7 and 14).

Now let's see if the AI trolls come after this post (what they are doing on this specific board is puzzling to say the least).......................

Carthage 45 Nevada 50 - Final

Hadn't really thought much about Carthage since their home tournament. Now that this post got refreshed by bigcats05, I glanced over their schedule. 11-7 with a big tourney championship taking down 3 state ranked teams, one being Harrison!
2 COC road wins at Glendale and Ozark with their 3 losses being to Central, Poo, and Nixa in very competitive games too I might add! whos number6265723977 Eagles_Ball better hope they go O-for the rest of the way out!
In a close and competitive matchup, Carthage fell short against Nevada with a final score of 45-50. The game was hard-fought, with both teams showcasing strong efforts throughout, but Nevada ultimately managed to edge out Carthage in the final moments. The narrow margin highlights the intensity of the contest and the resilience of both sides.

Hell Week (also known as Midseason Tournament Week)

During my eight years at the Globe, we always referred to the third week of January as Hell Week since all 80 of the high schools in the coverage area (80 boys and 80 girls teams so 160 teams) were all in action at tournaments and we ended up tracking down scores, brackets and boxes on everything from the Liberal Tony Dubray Classic to the Southeast Lancer Classic in Cherokee, Kan., the Chanute Ralph Miller Classic and of course the long running NEO Tournament in Miami, Okla. which has shrunk considerably from being the largest tournament west of the Mississippi at one point in time (90+ teams) down to 32 now.

A rather new tournament up the road in Pittsburg, Kansas has caught my eye this week and I figured if others wanted to post pairings and results under one post for this week, well then here we go:

Bill Hanson Memorial Tournament, Pittsburg High School
Owasso, Okla. (12-3) vs. Wichita West (3-6) -- Owasso No. 1 team in Oklahoma Class 6A
Willard (7-7) vs. Pittsburg (4-5)
Webster Groves (8-3) vs. Branson (6-8)
Topeka Washburn Rural (6-2) vs. Joplin 7-6)

Thursday's Results
Owasso 69, Wichita West 29
Willard 74, Pittsburg 71, this score intrigues me, watched Pittsburg High vs. CJ earlier this year and this is the worst Pittsburg High team I've seen since the 1991-1992 season. Boys basketball in Southeast Kansas is as bad now as I can ever remember it being.
Webster Groves 78, Branson 73, this score caught my attention also
Washburn Rural 65, Joplin 58

Today's Games
Owasso (13-3) vs. Willard (8-7)
Webster Groves (9-3) vs. Washburn Rural (7-2)
Wichita West carsflow (3-7) vs. Pittsburg (4-6)
Branson (6-9) vs. Joplin (7-7)
Hell Week, also known as Midseason Tournament Week, is a grueling period in sports, especially in competitive gaming or team-based events, where participants face intense, high-stakes challenges. Typically occurring midway through a season or tournament, this week serves as a pivotal point for teams to prove their resilience and skills.

Maybe Some of Y'all Should Jump On Board

Is it censorship to dictate how employees can sign their emails? Let me help you: it is. So let’s go ahead and stop pretending that you’re anti-censorship and call it like it is. You’re pro-censorship on things you don’t like or agree with, just like everyone else.
It is not censorship in the least bit when you direct your employees how they are supposed to do their jobs and represent your company.

Carthage 45 Nevada 50 - Final

Carthage has actually had a deeper bench this year than in years past. They outscored Glendale 29-3 in bench scoring during that game. They've had 7 different players start this year not including the games in which they had injuries or illness. Carthage also has rotated 10 different players with even Laytham getting minutes outside of garbage time early in the season.
Well I’ll say one of the main bench players is healthy again. So that does help. But I’m not impressed with the others maybe I’ve caught them on bad nights.
