Carthage 45 Nevada 50 - Final

They don't have J. Ray this year to open up shots for everyone else and have pretty even talent spread across the rotation. Battled back to within 3 points after being down 13, but couldn't make enough plays to close the gap. They will be better if they can clean up offensive mistakes and cut down on turnovers. May still struggle from lack of size though.

They will REALLY struggle in the COC. I can't imagine them winning more than a couple conference games.
Hadn't really thought much about Carthage since their home tournament. Now that this post got refreshed by bigcats05, I glanced over their schedule. 11-7 with a big tourney championship taking down 3 state ranked teams, one being Harrison!
2 COC road wins at Glendale and Ozark with their 3 losses being to Central, Poo, and Nixa in very competitive games too I might add! Eagles_Ball better hope they go O-for the rest of the way out!

I thought they looked good when I saw them. They are gritty and hit some TOUGH shots. They'll compete for the top five in the COC I'd think. I don't see any reason they can't finish behind Republic, Poo, Central, and Nixa.

I thought they may struggle too. Nevada is a game they would like to have back for sure. Their starting 5 is respectable, things get a little dicey when they go to the bench.

Carthage has actually had a deeper bench this year than in years past. They outscored Glendale 29-3 in bench scoring during that game. They've had 7 different players start this year not including the games in which they had injuries or illness. Carthage also has rotated 10 different players with even Laytham getting minutes outside of garbage time early in the season.

Well I’ll say one of the main bench players is healthy again. So that does help. But I’m not impressed with the others maybe I’ve caught them on bad nights.

In a close and competitive matchup, Carthage fell short against Nevada with a final score of 45-50. The game was hard-fought, with both teams showcasing strong efforts throughout, but Nevada ultimately managed to edge out Carthage in the final moments. The narrow margin highlights the intensity of the contest and the resilience of both sides.
