Not that it matters but I think it was 44-14. That WC team was undefeated but it seems like I remember them not really dominating many or any of their opponents until that game. Won a lot of close games to get there.
We kind of relied on chapman a lot. Didnt really have a break away back. Chapman was great at pump faking 20 yards downfield and running. Defense won that championship.
Class of 05 unless you're counting when they were freshmen & Class of 06. But those kids would have at least played on the 04 runner-up team.
Obviously not, judging by the D-I players they've had streaming out of there year after year.
If I remember correctly North County scored on the first play of the game and their coaches were dancing around like it was over. It was 44-7 at the end of the game and they scored again while Webb's defense was running to the sidelines celebrating the win.

They had an all state te that went deep on the first play. They last play they scored on was bc we were putting in any senior that hadnt played and we only had 10 men and was missin a corner.
First and last play and nothing in between. It took what, 3 drives before anything for Webb.
Jackson's gained over 100 kids in the last two years and are near the middle of the pack in Class 6 so it seems like they'll be in Class 6 for the foreseeable future.

Could you elaborate on why the Webb City fanbase feels this way? As someone who attended this game, I don't see any way Webb was "robbed". Republic executed their style of football, and Webb killed themselves with stupid penalties... If I was a Webb fan/player/coach I would be upset that Republic ended my postseason run for the second straight year, but to say they were slighted by the refs is a little far-fetched...
However I do agree that this rivalry is very much alive and well now.
Add St. Pius X in KC. They will go up, and their enrollment plus bump is expected to put them in Class 5, per everyone involved with St. Pius.
Actually, I have no affiliation with either team, I just think it's hilarious that Webb wants to call foul anytime they don't make it to a title game. When Webb loses you are guaranteed to see multiple Webbies on here blaming anything and everything they can. Webb will wax Republic this next year I'm sure, and then all of you can get on here and talk about your exalted greatness once again.
Also if I recall you are a Webb fan Veer? So I'm not sure calling someone else out on being biased is a good move for you.
I went to the Webb City/Republic game. I am not from either town. The only thing Webb should be upset about is how they absolutely Killed themselves with offensive penalties. Anyone that watched that game could see that Webb City was the much more explosive team. However they didn't play a very clean game at all. Republic on the other hand, had a strategy going into the game, and executed it well. They played a very clean game, and even got an extra possession with an onside kick. Looking at what everyone has coming back, RepMO will probably take a step back, I think Webb will be ok, but I don't see either beating Carthage next year.
Defensive touchdowns are still touchdowns, so there is no separate scoring category for them.
It was an excellent game plan executed to near perfection by Republic. It was beautiful in its ugliness.
To be clear I don't believe WC was robbed in any way but the thing I keep hearing is officiating was skewed and there was a call/no-call (I can't remember what) late in the game that in their minds decided the outcome of the game in Republic's favor. So the game wasn't lost by Webb or won by Repmo it was merely determined by a referee throwing a flag. I actually heard this come up yet again just a couple days ago so I guess some folks are still hung up on it.
The only thing I could think of that may have been controversial would have been the onside kick in the 4th quarter that Republic recovered. Possession was originally given to Webb City for illegal contact, however, the Webb player touched the ball first so the call was reversed. The funny thing is, Republic fumbled probably 2 or 3 plays later... So it ultimately DID NOT determine the game, but they need something to blame so I guess we will stroke their hair and tell them it's all ok, and the mean referees are gone now. I did however see Webb get several holding/false start penalties late in the game as well as an ill-advised throw from their QB that got picked off to seal the game. That could have been what got them, but what do I know.
Sidenote: sw5890 I know you are just the messenger here so please don't think any of this is directed towards you in particular, I just love the fair weather demeanor of the Webb fan base.
