I think they discuss it just judging by the growth of their district. If their long term plan is them being like Mexico, Moberly, Kirksville or are they like Eldon, Osage and California. I don't think they leave, but I think they will talk about it.
In 3 years, Southern Boone will be a class 4 school and there is tons of construction around Ashland. People I know in the district think Ashland will almost double in size. Hallsville and Centralia are also building or expanding new subdivisions.
If Hannibal is truly being kicked out of the NCMC, I would say its because other schools have expressed interest but wont because of the travel to Hannibal.
Kicking out Hannibal would drop the conference down to 5 schools, along with Fulton and Marshall looking around, it would basically be a death sentence. I know something is being discussed behind the scene, just don't know who is involved

I live just south of Ashland and I went to Southern Boone. The district is growing at insane rates. It's hard to believe that not that long ago, SoBoCo was a humble Class 2 school in the Mid-MO conference with Tipton, Harrisburg, and North/South Callaway. Hallsville & Centralia are growing a little slower, but still steadily growing. They're simply just Columbian suburbs, while Ashland duals as a Columbia and Jefferson City suburb.
I'd be surprised if Southern Boone ever went to a conference without Hallsville, though. That rivalry dates back to pre-WWII. Geographically-speaking, I would think the NCMC would be the best fit for the future. I think SoBoCo's growth will cap at around 1,000 kids as there's still state parks that seperate the district from Columbia. But there's still so much empty farmland there that could be subdivided in the future.
Well Southern Boone is already class 4 in some sports. It will not double in size. It is growing but not at the pace many think.
They also played JV schedule. The one varsity game was ugly. Will be hard to retain kids if they go full varsity schedule.
I think you might be referring to Linn. I don't think New Bloomfield has football at the HS level.
High School is on pace to have almost 600 in 3-4 years and with 3 more new/expanded subdivisions currently being build.

No Southern Boone has always been 11 man since they started in 2004.
Which still puts them in class 4, which they already are in most sports. You are basing your overall numbers 9-12. MSHSAA numbers are based on grades 9-11. So even at the slight growth, they will be MSHSAA enrollment 450ish.

Also I’m pretty sure the ONLY sport they are class 4 in is Basketball and baseball which caps at mid 600s most years. Not exactly most sports.
They have classes in middle school and elementary around 180 right now. Which will put the around the same as Mexico/Moberly, who bounce between class 3/4 (for football). And like I said with 3 major housing projects going on which doesn’t include the ones planned near the Columbia airport.
They are going to out grow the Tri County. It’s not a question of if but when.
What I have heard recently is Eldon and California are against expansion. Osage is looking south for the future. They eventually want to be with Camdenton, Lebanon, Rolla and Waynesville.
your enrollment numbers are way off. Yes, there are housing developments going up. There has been for 20 years.
Why in the world would they want that? I could not see Coach Jolley or Coach E wanting that move.
Key word in the future. Not at present time even though they play all those schools already in about every sports sans football. HS enrollment is currently 650 projection to be in the 700s before too long. Get around 800 and they would be about Bolivar's size.
Southern Boone is at 499 students in the all 4 grades in HS I believe. MSHSAA only looks at 3 years for classification I believe.

Well then SoBoCo should just join the Mid Mo conference and play Jeff City, Helias, and the rest of them because their enrollment will be the same. Easy fix
According to a survey sent out to Fulton parents, they have been invited to join the Tri-County for the 2024-25 school year. Based on what I read it seem like the school has already made up their mind to join but wanted to get feed back from parents in good faith.
I do know that the Show-Me is looking to become a football conference as well and with Lewis and Clark probably going 8-man. Schools involved are Linn, Russellville, Tipton, South Callaway, Harrisburg and Fayette. South Callaway wants North Callaway to join but NC doesn’t want to be the only class 2 school in the conference.
Once this is made official, we will see if this sets of a chain reaction.

I think that’s the most likely. Centralia and Macon are a pair and won’t split. I’m hearing Centralia may have been offered a spot in the tri first and turned it down.
I'm not talking about the hodge pod football affiliation conference they have now. Northwest is exploring for all-sports. Which leads me to believe the I-70 might be looking at an all-sports 8 man league.
Is Osage growing that much? They'd get CRUSHED in that conference.
