They have around 130 kids in the school 9-12. If you figure 1/2 are girls that leaves 65 boys. MSHSAA says they have 54 on their roster. Does any other school in the state have 83% of boys in school playing football?

they should be class 3 minimum based on their available talent pool (AKA SG county and the corners of the others they pull from).
When their coaches in 2020 played their first 4 games at home and then when their opponent cancelled their week 5 game (was supposed to be an away game) and they pick up a game and would "ONLY" play that game at home and not even at a neutral site. I have nothing for them. Work harder. Rules are rules. They had their opportunity in Class 3 and did fine as a midlevel team and could not get past some of those other guys. Now you get break in Class 2 somewhat. Go out and play. I mean, for goodness sake you beat Seckman last year and played them ok this year. So work harder and you will be fine.
Doesn't their scholarships state "football participation required" on line 3 of section 3b under.."non negationable services"?
As a "mid-level" team, they were 10-1. I think the privates should be in their own classification, and certainly don't like the super team mentality of the last 6+years or so. That being said, Valle this year has

Those have been Valle names since they day they opened the school.
I have taught 24 years now and still haven't had any of them other thank Wolk. Again, the private nonsense in St Louis county I agree is totally ridiculous. I am also aware of the huge majority of Valle kids are right there in Ste Gen.
i see a few more that i've seen on SG and SV rosters over the years.
Maybe they are different families and just happen to have a 'valle name'.
The Valle/St. Gen area is a little different then most private schools. You stated it best, a lot of those families are generational families that send their kids there. Know a few of them through the grape vine. On top of a great coaching staff its just different there. That being said a vast majority of the "super teams" a.k.a. private schools recruit their tales off and those kids are only at the school 1 or 2 years. Really does need to be split public and private playoffs like other states have already done.
what has given valle the 'edge' over the years has been their ability to keep a low enrollment and pull kids from a class 4 talent pool while competing in smaller classes.
It just baffles me that people can't freaking understand this.
There is no denying that Valle Catholic had a competitive advantage in Class 1 football all those years. It is just a fact.
Another trivia question: name one head coach from valle that then went to a public school to coach and won state.

Absolutely none of them. Doesn't change the fact that Judd is still a hell of a coach. Can't say the same for some of the other private teams that have won state. Some of the other teams were extremely unsound and won on athleticism alone.
No doubt they are well coached.
Still awful easy when you're playing with a talent pool 4x the other schools in your classification.
And gets not-so-easy when you actually have to play 'like' schools.
The same amount of coaches that won a public school title and come over where it is easy on the private side and won one.
Tony Severino won one at SM Northwest before going to Rockhurst.
Speaking of getting breaks. Forget Lebron and the bubble, Class 3 2020 was the real Covid Championship. Does any Blair Oaks fan believe they were going to beat(Play within 20?) St. Mary’s had they not folded up shop?
I would bet a lot of money they would've played within 20. Do I think it's a for sure that they beat them, no, but I wouldn't bet against Coach LePage in that game or year.
This might be an easier way to do it - what star Valle players are not Ste Gen kids? Names would be great.
No really. I've seen many so called 'valle names' on other rosters over the years. Awesome that they have the family thing going but don't pretend you have the market cornered just because great gramps played there.
I suppose those valle names were gone the last 3 years when they were in class 3 where they belong?
Wasn't like they weren't serious contenders.. Just ran into a bigger animal. It's actually messed up though if you look into it, there was a school playing Class 3 but they were drawing from population pool of 2.8 million
They were a juggernaught playing the schedule that they had in front of them. For anyone to say that they wouldn't beat or let alone play within 3 tds against a school that folded due to the bug that costed many teams that season is just garbage. Several years ago I would have said the same thing that it would be rough for them to do that but I learned my lesson. LN, St Marys, CR, Lift for life, over the past 6 years have had numerous chances to beat BO both in Wardsville as well in St Louis. It has yet to happen.
Luthernan North (0-3) against BO lately gets the 4th chance tomorrow night. Good Luck.
