Penn State, conference champs and beat OSU. Bama, Clemson, Washington conference champs with zero or one loss. If you disagree, you are just wrong.

If Penn St had not been blown out my Michigan they would be in for sure. Heck if Oklahoma had been more competitive with Ohio St they might have had a chance. I don't think OU is as good as some years past but Ohio St did win at OU so in that regard you could call them the Big 12 champ.
I think Ohio St will be in easily and the debate is between Washington or Penn St. The Big 10 is the best conference this year but I would probably give Washington the 4th spot. One loss and won the conference title by 31 points. I also think Ohio St is the only team that can beat Alabama, not that they will.
At the time I thought it was wrong that they were out but then Ohio St went and rolled to the title so,the committee got that on right. Two years ago TCU was in the top 4 with one loss going into the final week. They didn't play in a conf championship game and fell out of the top four despite not playing.
And how bad was the SEC East this year? WOof
^^^^^True^^^^^If Penn State's and OSU's situation were reversed, I think Ohio state would be in.
If you had 8 teams, everyone would still argue about the 8th team.
There needs to be a 32 team playoff using the bowls as sites. Anyone that would be 33 has no claim to the championship chances.
The committee seems to decide what the criteria is depending on who they want in.... When TCU was left out it was because they did not play in a championship game... and that last data point makes a difference also, they did not like the fact that they were not clear cut conference champs.... that thinking would have hurt Ohio State so they didn't use it this year.
Stop hijacking my threads with your petty hatred.
Kentucky beat Louisville. Remember Louisville? And how bad was the SEC East this year? WOof
^Just noticed the Veer stop in like. Maybe he'll start commenting in 2017 if Mizzou is bowl eligible. #relevant

Didn't someone beat mighty Va Tech this year too? Oh yeah.
FSU struggled to beat Ol' Miss.
There DA. Cook is gone. Bye bye.
Veer how many SEC teams did FSU win/lose to in 2016?
Where is Mizzou bowling this year?
Aren't you a razorback fan ?You had to know he'd be back with the momentum of Mizzou's third win this year over an FBS school!
Mizzou is basement bound for at least the next decade (maybe bowl eligible before then, but only barely, with non conference wins against SBU and Evangel because they're in the SEC and entitled to easy non conference schedules...)
That's kind of a playoff committee reference

Mizzou beat 3 bowl teams and each team they lost to is in a bowl .Missouri may have beat a couple of bowl teams this year, but that's not enough. We shouldn't just be happy we beat a team from the dregs of the SEC west. We improved over the course of the season. The tigers need to build on this.
OSU runs college football behind the scenes.
I agree. I don't think the 16th ranked team has a legit case to make that they could be the national champion. Plus, scheduling would be a nightmare. Also, how many people would really be interested in a #1 vs #16 matchup in the playoffs (this year that would West VA/Bama)? I think 8 is enough...
