What in the world is going on there? Winless on the season. There is too much talent around there to be winless right now and losing to Kelly? Yikes.

Same thing that happened to Malden after Wyatt left, they fell apart.
Not surprised. Their coach is a good guy, I’m not going to knock him at all.

Malden and Kennett are completely different places. Malden falling apart after Wyatt does not surprise me at all. But Kennett has the resource and the athletes that they should not be winless. They have only scored double digit points once on the season. I do not know anything about the current coach. He maybe a good guy. But he appears to be lacking something on the coaching side.

Buddy of mine in the boothill says that Kennett is now on the clock and looking for a new head coach.

Last ten years:
2015-2016 (8-3)
2016-2017 (6-5)
2017-2018 (7-4)
2018-2019 (11-2) District Champs
2019-2020 (13-1) District Champs
2020-2021 (11-1) District Runner-up
2021-2022 (8-3) District Runner-up
2022-2023 (7-4)
2023-2024 (4-6)
2024-2025 (0-10)

Talk about falling off a cliff!

The 21-22 team that went 8-3 and was runner up was a really good team. If Wyatt had stayed that year they would have won districts and made a run in the playoffs. It was probably the best team of that run. But the drop off in coaching was immediate and huge.

That place is a giant waiting to happen again for the right coach. Good facilities, good resources and they always have athletes.

I am sure their dream world is they get Wyatt to come back. Normally I would think no way that could happen, but with all the issues and rumblings at WP the last couple years who knows. No one ever thought he would go back to Willow either.

Should be a interesting hire and search.

I hope he doesn’t leave, but wouldn’t blame him if he did. WP will have their best lineman back next year (4-year starter on D, 3 on offense) and both RBs will be back as 3-year starters. I’m sure there are more but those are 3 key pieces. Next year would be his first team at WP that was 100% Wyatt coached from freshman-senior year. I hope he stays.

I hope he stays too and I would think anyone with any type of objective view would want him to stay.

But I will say that if he does leave, I am probably done being a supporter of them for the time being. If you basically run Ary, Perkins, and Wyatt out of town then you do not deserve support and you deserve to reap what you sow.

Stinks for the kids, but it is reality of life in Zizzer land.

Same. Kind of how I feel about girls bball after what I heard in reference to Womack.

There were games they’ve either been in it or won, the last 2 years, that they wouldn’t have been without Wyatt.

I went to that freezing cold Hannibal @ WP quarterfinal game 2 years ago, (was literally covered head to toe, even my face lol) and stood on the Hannibal side so I didn’t have to deal with any WP parents comments. WP wins, and yes Aneyas Williams wasn’t playing.

After game, I go to a bar for about 45 minutes. Got to sit at the opposite end of the bar and listen to some senior parent dipsh!t loudly talking about how the only reason they’re headed to the semis was cause of the kids and how good they were and that any coach could have gotten them there and that Wyatt was lucky to have coached that team.

Let’s just say, by the end of this guy talking to all these other people, I laughed out loud and then left.
