Open Boys Basketball Head Coaching Jobs

Nope. Thomas Whittaker transferred from Glendale to Hillcrest as a senior. The coaching staff wanted to check the box that it was being done for athletic reasons, but they were told not to. Trey Starks also transferred as a senior. I believe a hardship waiver was granted in his case. Taylor Sade's family actually moved to the Hillcrest attendance area.
Brazile transferred to Kickapoo his SR year.

Former South Iron and 3Rivers player and most recently assistant at Poplar Bluff going to AV. He might have learned a thing or two along the way. :)

Does anyone have any updates on any jobs? I know there have been hires but I haven't seen anything official yet.

It probably does around there! I think Daniel will do well. If he gets all the kids playing that need to be playing, Camdenton will be pretty competitive. Always the trick there.
Be interesting to see. Laker legend maybe can mend some of the bond between the two sports.

That’s a HUGE step. Might be the biggest. I have a feeling that’s the main reason the basketball program loses players over the years. There’s never been much support on the basketball side of things. A lot of behind the scenes talk of improving your position with the football team if you lift and workout all winter. It’s an absolute mindset shift for the school and the community. But this could very well be what they need to get it right. If done right, there’s enough talent there to make an impact.

That website is embarrassing IF ran by someone with any connection to the basketball team. Who the heck would want to come take that job after seeing this.
How was he "demonstrably bad" ??
Petty is an understatement with some. It’s a parent of either a jr or sr. Had a few buddies. You see how it snowballed. Kid didn’t play much last yr, so it was brutal. Played a ton (I think started) this yr, so as you can tell it was pretty quiet.

Cale Ramsey should be a front runner for this job. Successful Head Coach experience. He is a kid magnet and is already in the area. Makes perfect sense.

Who else could be candidates at Willard? Matt Powell from Lamar? Grant Williamson from Ash Grove? Should attract a few names I would assume.

The facilities are awesome at Willard, but why would you ever want to deal with parents like that? I don't know coach but all I need to see is the red flag of parents creating a website to talk poorly about him. This is a $5,000 job. I don't see how it gets better. This is the world we live in. The loudest voices are the one's that are heard and those voices are never held accountable or expected to be professional or act like adults. Maybe coach can go watch them during their job.

Honestly, they should get to the bottom of who was doing it and ban them from all extra curricular activities for a year. That would solve the problem and set a standard for for future coaches.

Going back to the original comment, I moved on from Willard. I was hired back last month. I chose to step down on my own terms.

I do not foresee any continued issues at Willard in regards to anything that is being mentioned above. Willard is a good place with a lot of really good people. I would encourage any applicant to apply as I believe it is a good job that is only going to get better over time. Through it all, I enjoyed my time there.

Thanks.
