based on what? Number of positive tests, number of deaths, hospitalizations? All numbers proven to be grossly inaccurate. While it may seem that I'm arguing with you, I'm only expressing the fact that there are sooo many opinions (which are fine) and, more importantly, measures that have been taken, all based on ever changing metrics and frankly, it's maddening. Even the scientific community is divided... Who do you believe or better yet, who's professional opinion do you align with?

You use the same flawed numbers as justification for your claim AND point to "what needed to be done" when "what needed to be done" has never been confirmed and is also a source of contention. Other countries... like Sweden?

I would challenge you to step back and look at the situation through your eyes and not what you are being told or you may want to believe bases on political beliefs.

Comparing other countries to the US is worthless due to varying size, population density, and government type. Do you believe the numbers out of Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, etc. are complete and accurate? Do think comparing countries the size of Florida to the US is an accurate representation of our current situation?

The data everyone keeps regurgitating is also worthless. Regardless of the fact that it has been proven to be widely inaccurate and could potentially be grossly over or understated it is also irrelevant because it is incomplete. Did more people have Covid in Jan or July? We have no idea because we didnt test anyone in January, there could have been 100M people walking around with covid in January. We could potentially have our lowest infection rate sense November. We could be a couple thousand people away from having heard immunity.

I get this is serious virus and some of the more vulnerable members of our society are at great risk. At some point we have to step back and put the entire situation in context. My Grandma, like thousands of other every year, died from the flu, she was old and vulnerable. My other Grandma is also old and vulnerable, she stays home more than usual and takes great precaution when she does have to leave the house. She also understands the risk and chooses to continue doing some other things she enjoys regardless because as she says "dying from covid doing the things I love is better that dying from anything else locked in my house".
