Lebanon, Camdenton, Waynesville, Rolla

Easy there, Eagles! For one, way to go on using YOUR thing! Second, I SWEAR I read on here that Par Pitts once took a knee while LOSING in a football game!! So letting him make a football schedule sounds like a BAD idea. You might be onto something here!!

There isn't much in class 2 other than Webb and Lebanon.
Gotta appease Branson somehow. Lordy knows they don't want competition. I keed, I keed. Sorta.

Bump Parkview and Central down to DIII. Slide Camdenton up. Three solid programs. Six conference games. Then you've got three others to make as tough or easy (looking at you Branson) as you want.

Goo

God forbid Joplin not wanting their kids back on the busses for to the 2.5-3 hour trips for midweek games they just left a few short years ago.
Given the current COC...please point to the 2.5-3 hour trips.

Kickapoo
Nixa
Ozark
Waynesville
Carthage
Neosho
Republic
Lebanon
Glendale
Central
Willard
Parkview
Webb City

But this was in regards to your comments about not wanting Rolla and Camdenton as well so they can schedule “Mac County, Monett, Cassville”. A quick look at Joplin and Webb City’s baseball schedule last year shows they didn’t travel outside of the approximate 1 hour radius on a school night the entire season. Waynesville is immediately the longest or in the same range of longest trip on both of their schedules. There’s only so many Saturdays to go around and conference baseball is not typically played on the weekend.

Waynesville isn't even 2.5, unless your bus driver does about 60.

That's not what that comment was. The comment was the ADs were/are meeting today to decide divisions for all sports. Wasn't originally the case with the schools that are now members for next year. The reason it changed? The west schools (ie Neosho, Webb, Carthage) "didn't want to travel to the east schools" for the other sports that were originally not going to have divisions (basketball being one of the main ones). I'm sure it had nothing to do with their vanity tour through the C3 basketball schools in their area. So, again, in essence the conference has gained four schools but become a smaller conference for each school.

Might do a little more research there. If Branson only wanted to play small schools then why didn't they do it last year instead of spending all year trying to get a COC/SPS merger of 2 divisions or a COC/OC merger of 3 divisions?

Will teams schedules be completed with all schools from within both sides of the COC or will there be open dates to fill?

East Division (football)
Lebanon, Waynesville, Nixa, Ozark, Kickapoo, Glendale

Oh God! I don't see Glendale winning 1-2 games a year in that division. Ozark won't be down for very long. And, we lost to Waynesville in '18 & '19. So, not even that opponent can be counted as a win most years. 0-5 is very possible. But we won't be given the same "oh, no! We've got to move them to another conference" treatment that Hillcrest, Parkview, & Central were allowed. I guarantee it!

Does Glendale have nothing coming up? They were good a few years ago.

Ok. Remember when all the west side guy were asking why add and make the conference bigger? Put me in that boat now. Why in the world do you add schools only to make your conference smaller. Hell, if the west schools wanted to be grouped together and sectioned off…Why even have them in conference? I’m so confused by the east/west split for the non-football sports. Makes zero sense.

I don't understand expanding past 10. I don't understand Waynesville and I don't understand adding Parkview or Central in anything.
Agree, should have been done after the poo and Glendale additions. Made for an elite 10 team conference.

I get the west and East thing from a travel point of view, but it feels watered down.

Hopefully they come up with a championship game between the 2 sides on week 9. Have game 9 be 1 v 1, 2 v 2 and so on. One year east side hosts and the next year west teams host. Idk probably never happen.

Completely watered down, especially non-football sports when you consider they’re only required to schedule inside their division.

Agreed. Especially if you’re not going to schedule everyone In conference in the sports that allow that schedule size. Pretty much pointless.

It’s supposed to be a mutual agreeement.
Webb…I don’t want to travel to Nixa. It’s “too far”.

Rest of COC….(crickets)

Neosho…Yeah, that’s way too far.

Rest of COC…What about that mutual agreement thing?

West COC…Hey, Monnet, Seneca, East Newton, Cassville, Mac Co, and Podunk KS HS have to have games too!!!

You seem about as bitter and preoccupied with the coc west as some folks in Carthage are with Webb city. I know the chests in nixa, the self proclaimed flagship of the coc east are pretty puffed up right now with their string of 1 conference champs but come on.

There is life outside of football outside of the Joplin metro. That’s all.

Not against those teams. We're looking at having a 6-7-8 game losing streak to Kickapoo after beating them six straight. The Mauks and their style of play covered up weaknesses that have existed for a long time. I just don't see how (in football) we can ever have a winning record in that division and having to play a few teams from the over one. Willard seems to be better, Neosho would be 50/50, Joplin would be favored, Carthage without a doubt would be a loss, etc. That's not even getting to Webb City. It's going to be a long Fall for the next decade plus. And, once again, we won't get treated the same way Parkview, Central, and Hillcrest were because we're on the "rich" side of town.

You're actually right on this one! Coach Pitts successfully won a district title at Odessa by losing a game on purpose. I think they calling that failing upwards??

Absolutely... a lot of great and even better football in Texas and the Deep South. And as for the Joplin area, a lot of great baseball facilities as well for the higher IQ athletes. Joplin city leaders just can't help themselves though in getting something better for concerts or conventions to expand life beyond ball games.

Rolla is going independent.

I don't understand why Camdenton didn't join the CMAC long ago.

They’ll be scheduling everyone unless the two schools agree not to due to travel.
I'll retract. Info I'm getting this morning was that it had to be mutually agreed upon by the schools to NOT play and it only factors into the Joplin area schools and the "far east" schools. Seems kind of silly, simply because...1) Lebanon is not even 2 hours from the Joplin area schools. 2) It's every other year. If you're a west school, you only travel to one of the two each year. It's not rocket-science. Seems a bit silly to put that clause in, but whatever. This makes much more sense to me.
