well it was a quick turn around, makes you think they already knew who they were going to hire.
Burnouts, not sure about that. Have they had issues in the past, absolutely. You can't argue these two are top tier D1 level coaches, and are both offensive innovators. Concern would be with public image of Briles connection to Baylor scandal, and they won't be there very long if they have any success.
Like I said, both have baggage. Briles prob brings more heat as far as his past. I would think Petrino would be able to get a D1 job easier than Briles.
And for what it's worth, the Petrino photo of him at the press conference w the neck brace is an all time classic.
Wow. Cliff Smart is going to lay his reputation on the line with one of these two guys? Is Dave Bliss available to fix the mens basketball program why we are going all in?
That is pathetic- for him to go from NFL to D 1 -AA. The same guy that walked out on his staff and team in the middle of the season with the falcons to take the Arkansas job. Didn't tell them man to man - left them all notes in their lockers. Same guy who got fired for taking his mistress for a ride on his bike. Pathetic for him to drop so much and for Missouri State to accept him.
Petrino walked out on the falcons in the middle of a 3-10 season - didn't tell his players left them letters in their lockers- just told his coaches he was gone -then jumped to Arkansas. - class act- NOT

What a mess! As an SMS grad, I am ashamed. Don't see the logic in this decision, if it is true.

The Mo State AD Kyle Moats was an Associate AD at Louisville when Bobby Petrino was there so maybe that was the connection that sparked this. I was absolutely bewildered to wake up to this.
No one is spotless or completely without sin. I'm not saying he's a good person, but he isn't irredeemable. He is arguably a good football coach.
But they could’ve had Coach Roderique. They just don’t want to win.

So what did Briles do that was so bad from my understanding he did the same thing the browns did with kareem hunt and what the chiefs did with tyreek hill but maybe I'm missing something
Well I hope he can turn the program around. I would love to be able to watch some quality college football in this area. We have MoSo, State and Arkansas down here, we are really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
