The Joplin schools better win this league in football because they aren't winning it in anything else.
Honestly this is the way the leagues should be divided. You have a big school league, a medium school league and a small school league.
Webb will have a chance in baseball a lot of years, but otherwise you're basically correct.
Hey maybe you missed it but Carthage won COC swimming this year AND last! I'm thinking they won boys golf last year also.
But seriously that's a mostly true statement. Fortunately football is the sport those schools care the most about. Whether or not they will continue to be the top in FB remains to be seen though. Joplin has underdelivered and allegedly facing a talent drought. Carthage is way down. WC is good but haven't been 'the' team to beat in several years now. Maybe they will all recover maybe none of them will.
I wouldn’t be shocked to see Rolla head northeast to be honest.
They’ve had little to no success in the OC in football in the last 20 years other than maybe a season or two.
Now, their girls basketball is solid but I think even they graduate their studs after this year.
Rolla has one season with more than 7 wins in the last 20 years.

No definitely not. Webb VB which cruised through districts didn't beat any of those schools except Willard who I think might have been the bottom team in the COC. Same for Carthage and CJ. All 3 of them are what I would consider good at VB but they still can't compete regularly with Nixa, Ozark, Republic. Glendale I believe is similar. Kickapoo is as good if not better than Nixa.
Webb does a little better than Carthage at basketball but I don't think Carthage has ever beat Nixa or Republic. They narrowly beat an abnormally down Ozark team last year for the first ever win against them. They will probably never beat Poo or Glendale either. Carthage was often about the same level as Branson and CJ.
I think everyone was fine with all this because at least in football this area dominated. Even getting crushed in the COC basketball there were still enough non con games to make a season feel somewhat successful.

That is what I am still wondering. I can't figure out a good scenario for them if the OMC isn't interested in them.
Similar to what Central is doing I would imagine.
I can see them still playing Hillcrest, WP, and Bolivar.
Maybe a scheduling Central as well.
And then probably playing Class 3 schools for the rest of their schedule unless the northern OC schools are able to schedule them.
I wouldn’t be shocked to see Catholic trying to schedule them possibly, with them not being in the Big 8, I would think they definitely have some openings.
I think they would be a good pickup for Monett with the Cubs being in Class 4 as of late.
I will laugh if Rog, Marshfield, or branson tries to schedule them since they are probably the ones who voted against them joining the OMC
I think CJ and Webb have beaten Republic several times in volleyball but not this year.
Damn the COC is going to be a gauntlet in virtually every sport. You win the conference you’ve done something.

Neosho softball just won n the coc title with one senior on the team, Neosho boys track won the conference meet last year

How did Neosho do in wrestling, figure they would have to be one of the better schools.
In this COC all schools will be able to have some success, even challenge for conference titles, in several different things. The problem that we've mentioned before here is that in the eyes of the public-- football, and to an extent basketball, are the only things that matter.

People on facebook from Springfield are saying this a super soccer conference, I guess people have different priorities...
Have heard...take fwiw...SPS is telling OMC today if they won't take Parkview, then Hillcrest is out.
