Class 4 from #5 on down is hilarious? Ludicrous? Don't you mean Mosports from JNReturnr to JNReturnt is moronic?

First, given that #5 Carl Junction with 88 points was way ahead of #6 in the voting, that's pretty solid (look at the numbers and you can tell that the top 4 were nearly the top 4 in the minds of all 15 media voters individually, and CJ was in the top 5 of nearly all).

Next, you decide to tout the quality of Maxpreps vs the Media in a different thread and Maxpreps has CJ at #3.

Lastly, you've pushed Calpreps on us most of the season and it still shows CJ as the second best, including a 28-26 head to head win over Platte County (personally I wouldn't put any money on that game as Platte was obviously one of the best teams in Class 4 if not the second best).

CJ's only losses this year were to the undefeated state champs. Webb handled them pretty good, and I'd imagine the Webb fans would agree that their boys were hyped and ready for their rivals and played some of their best ball of the year in those games.

Give some respect to CJ. Enough said.

Oh I wasn't disrespecting CJ...they should be in the top five. They should be #3. It is really the fact they were 5 at #4 (PC and Ladue played Webb better than CJ ever did)...and then the 6-10... come on?

6. Moberly, 10-3, 52, NR (Kearney and Lafayette beat three opponents that were better than anyone Moberly beat.) LOL

7. Harrisonville, 9-4, 47, NR (Should be in the top ten)

8. Hillsboro, 9-4, 39, NR (#18 on Calpreps..I mean, come on?)

9. Rolla, 7-6, 27, NR (#16 on Calpreps)

10. St. Francis Borgia, 11-1, 19, 7 (#14)

The reason the media rankings suck: Regional bias, politics, and a lack of objectivity!

Hazlewood Central???? BAHAHAHA...the lightest schedules of anyone in the top 15 in Class 6. Hence, #11.

Yeah a lot of thought went into those Class 4 rankings. Rolla ranked above West Plains and Camdentn who, both beat them. Kearney not ranked. Moberly? Really? Does anyone not think Kearney turbo clocks Moberly.

Ladues earned the #2 spot but is Parkway Central awarded the # 4 spot just because they made the semis?

Hillsboro?

Hillsboro?

Hillsboro lost 3 regular season games by a combined 3 points against 9-1 Class 5 Poplar Bluff, a 9-3 MICDS team that played Ladue for a district championship, and Class 5 Oakville in multiple overtimes and then gave runner-up Ladue a game before bowing out.

How does that compare with Kearney who lost 2 regular season games or Smithville who lost one and turbo clocked Maryville for that matter?

Point is, they're not undeserving of this recognition.

I wouldn’t say undeserving. That would be pretty harsh. I would say IMO less deserving than a team like Kearney. Yes they were whipped by the Class 5 champ but had wins over Platte County and Liberty North and a 5 pt loss to Fort Osage.

I’m not as attached to Calpreps as J-North but Calpreps would predict Kearney 38-20 over Hillsboro on a neutral field. It predicts Smithville 40-17 on a neutral field. My opinion is that apart from the media who voted in this poll most people who follow football at all in Class 4 would agree that Kearney and Smithville are better teams.

I think the voters just went with the team that went further in the playoffs and didn’t give it any more thought. That’s the only way Rolla is in the top 16 let alone the top 10.

And Calpreps is only 84% right in picking wins.

In class 6, hazelwood c is ranked 5th, lindbergh is ranked 6th. Identical records.
Who had the tougher schedule? Definitely Lindbergh
They played head to head. Who won? Lindbergh
Which team defeated the only other ranked team in class 6 (defending state champs Kirkwood)? Yep, Lindbergh

But hazelwood is better.
Fake news

Calpreps has it right. For end season ratings, the objective sources are more accurate than biased newspeople fake news purveyors:

Lindbergh 8th 44.1 Strength of schedule
Hazelwood Central 11th 40.3 strength of schedule

Fake news

Same thing happens in the KC Media...They feel like they have to rate almost half of the top 25 from Kansas--because of their audience--more fake news though. In reality, there are only about 25-30% of the Kansas teams that deserve being rated in the top 25
