Crackpot Theories on What Constitutes "Team Speed" Thread.

Kearney was better than Center hands down. We had much more trouble with Kearney's RB than Centers. Kearney also had the best secondary we have seen all year. Center had some lineman that could move, but were no match for Smithville's interior O-line and D-line. You keep referring to average speed, so I guess you are talking about the speed that Center's lineman had. They certainly did have some linemen that could move. Center wasn't very deep, and its tough to play teams that can fully platoon both offense and defense.

A shot of reality from Mr. OkahOmaDrill, who is freakin spot on. And of course, speed doesn't mean better football players--and certainly doesn't make up for mistakes and sloppy play...See game #2 of Kearney vs. SV.

Again Smithville played at a whole other intensity level than I've seen them even in Columbia last year. Amazing what getting that ole swat on the behind in the regular season can do.............

Both of Jones and Co's 2 titles here came from off the pace i.e. 2009 lost at Fort (a physical war classic) and Staley which they revenged enroute to the title. 2015 lost to Liberty North when the QB got dinged up then took off until that eternal classic in the Dome. I always cringe when a team goes unbeaten heading into the playoffs unless they are an absolute all star team.

I just read this list, too. No real surprises here. Kearney and Smithville will again far and away lead this league but perhaps there will be conference realignment(s) among the KC suburban again next summer?
