I've covered games in both ND towns (Jameson and Coffey), pre-consolidation, and in Newtown. As a high school freshman, I played in JH tournament at Newtown. Let's just say those were 3 unique gyms in their day.
Only Normany’s Viking Hall, John Burroughs – Taylor Family Athletic Center, and and Hancock Place – Tiger Dome seem to have an original design.
I believe Newtown is still used. N. Daviess may have cooped with someone. They use to go to pattonsburg.
The echoing in Hancock Place was insane for the JV games before the crowd got in the building.
I think they get one game a season so they can have their own Homecoming. Kinda like the East Harrison co-op (Ridgeway and Cainsville). Ridgeway had their homecoming 2 or 3 weeks ago and Cainsville's is tomorrow night. North Daviess co-ops with Gilman City for basketball. They don't field any teams of their own. (Having 1 or 2 kids out for track doesn't make a team IMO.)
Grundy County (Galt) in everything but football. Newtown-Harris (and Cainsville) co[op with Princeton for football.
