Most websites on the topic of in-state ranked talent beg to differ. His record this last season, in which he kept pushing local players aside also confirms a lot. Coach Tyler Henry led the program to its first conference post-season the year before then was unceremoniously terminated by a letter from the president. In-state talent needs to avoid Evangel until things get righted.
It was a good idea that MSHSAA didn't take far enough in my opinion. The issue is baseball runs past the end of the school year as it is so doing this in the final four would really stretch things out. Perhaps shorten the regular season if a bit?
The coaches association has been wanting some form of DE for years and has always been turned down. When they added Class 6 they took away the sectional round from Class 5 and 6. So therefore a team needed to win only 1 game instead of 2 post district to make it to state.
