Holy crap. That’s an interesting hire for what should be one of the premier jobs in the KC area. His defenses got lit up last two yrs at BSS.
Strictly speculation mind you, but I'm a cynic, and a cynic might say an attempt to stop the talent drain to LS North. Of course, cynics aren't always right but they aren't always wrong either.
You guys realize BSS hasn't won a basketball game all season either. 2200 students and state champs not that long ago.

Yeah, you'd think they wouldn't be plucking an assistant from that program. It's interesting to say the least. I've seen them play multiple football and basketball games over the past few years. At different times I've come away thinking, there's no way you can't be more competitive with over 2000 kids in your building. There are ebbs and flows, but man, their hoops is completely non-competitive this year and their football has been that way for at least two years.

Lincoln Prep is going south fast. haven't interviewed any HFC candidates, AD is now on administrative leave, MBball team protesting, some coaches from FB,, Track, Wrestling, and MBball are all slated to leave the school after this year due to "toxic and negligent work environment"

On the POSITIVE side I see three Liberty North FB players are headed to Rolla (now called MO S&T). They won't regret it!
The ONLY thing that even came close to success in the KCPS system is Lincoln Prep. On the field and in the classroom. Everything else is shit. that's not saying anything about the students at the other schools, its all on the city and school board anyone that collects a paycheck from any govt entity. KCMO is a complete shithole right now. litter, graffiti, blight.. its pure hell. anyone that says otherwise hasn't been downtown in a while.
Everyone talks a good game about helping the inner city and minorities. But when it came down to it Not one business or philanthropist could be bothered to help out the school when they had to move the playoff game. Trust me something could have been done. Where were the Chiefs? the Royals? and all the other blue bloods that are all talk. not one helping hand.

And a mayor that let the mob destroy the Plaza in 2020. A mayor that let people camp in Westport and by the police station downtown. Surprised this ass hole in chief didn't defund the police completely and create a take what you want zone.
Oh, there are hands to help individual kids, get to a private school or a suburban school (through a straw man apartment) IF they are good enough. Other than that, you are left in the hole. Hell, go to a Ruskin football game? Fence separates the crowds. Separate parking. Apartheid.

David White has resigned as Blue Springs High School football head coach after two seasons, according to PrepsKC.com.
White was named head coach in 2020 when longtime coach Kelly Donohoe announced that he was retiring and taking the job as head coach at Rockhurst High School. Donohoe left with 191 victories and four state titles in 20 seasons.
White finished 7-14 in his two seasons as head coach of the Wildcats, including 2-8 this past fall.
White came to Blue Springs after one season at Ridgeland High School in Ridgeland, Mississippi. He served the previous two seasons as the running backs coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Nevada.
White gained national attention when he won three conference championships from 2003-06 at Las Vegas-area power Bishop Gorman.
White also served as the director of player development at the Army All-American Bowl and as the director of the All-American Bowl.
From 2007-10, White coached at the University of Oklahoma. He started with the Sooners as a graduate assistant and finished as the program’s recruiting coordinator. During the four years he was with the Sooners, White coached the offensive line, tight ends and special teams and coached in two Big 12 Championship games and the 2009 BCS national championship game.
Prior to serving as head at Bishop Gorman, he was head coach for two seasons at Socorro High School in El Paso, Texas, and head coach for one season at Lake Havasu High School in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

"The city" is no different than it's ever been. Police Dept maybe a little more corrupt than it used to be, and that's saying something. Not much besides that.
You are right the city has alway been a shit hole, except now its even dirtier, more litter, more graffiti, more crime etc. This can't be denied. They made a pitch for the world cup a few weeks ago, no one even tried to clean things up. There is litter in the trees.

I don't think a vast majority of the metro knows that KC goes so far north and east mainly because the school districts aren't attached to the KCPS system. Curious how the next mayoral election will go.

The unfortunate Northlanders who live in the Kansas City zone...under the leadership of Mayor Moron...are nothing more than tax slaves who have inferior services, parks, roads, etc... They pay for things in the South.
Funny thing: Driving on a road that crosses a boundary...on the way back from a beautiful Gladstone park, one notices the road suddenly changes from well kept --- to a pot holed mess, with gravely edges...YOU have crossed into the KC zone. Years ago, I advocated secession, but no one listened. I finally moved out of the KC zone.

Ever drive around rural Missouri? Hard to not consider the majority of it a shithole as well. Falling down empty buildings and dwellings where people once lived.
