Coaches Jobs

what's the story?
That used to be a pretty good program if I remember right.
Been a consistent winning program. Never won a title but they have had some great teams and always compete.

But now they have let a lynch mob group of parents take over and run out several coaches.

This story came out last week but it has grown. Apparently there was misuse of school issued cell phones/emails and it looks like it has cost some people their jobs. Supposedly they were texting bad about a player or something and the parent got wind and was able to implement the Sunshine Law.

Of course this is all hearsay. But good luck getting someone to come coach there now.

It doesn't take long for the wrong parents to completely ruin a good thing.

I’m surprised by that. Mainly because Bolivar hasn’t been so hot as of late.
Be nice to see him turn things around there.

Bolivar is:

34-31 in the last 6 seasons overall
16-17 overall since joining the Ozark Conference in 2020
13-14 in Ozark Conference competition since joining
Must be some talent in the JH.

Where is he coming from?

Where is he coming from?
Last I knew he was at Marionville(did extremely well there), then left for East Newton for a year and then dipped and headed to his alma mater Miller and I wanna say he only coached there a few years. Maybe 2-3?
Idk if he coached last year or not. I heard some rumblings about parents complaining about how tough he was in Junior High basketball or something. But idk if there’s any truth to that.

Jamie LaSalle is the guy at Bolivar
Perfect fit.

Lasalle will either be great there and they will go on a nice run or he will get ran out of town. There is no middle ground there.

Some of these jobs should have had replacements by now - Crest Ridge, Clinton, Fayette, pleasant Hope??! Could somebody call palmyra and see if they have a new coach yet!

I have several teachers in my family and fully support and know what teachers and administrators have to deal with on a daily basis.....but they sound like 13 y/o jr high boys in those texts.
Totally weird for sure. Always remember if the Company (school) issues a phone/computer (I have a Company issued notebook in my home office) they have every right to read stuff like this. We have set use SOPs would certainly hope the schools have the same.

Looks like standard commentary here on MoSports. Nothing to see here.
I don't know about that. The worst I've ever said is a kid fumbled the ball too much when..................the stats verified it and some snowflake parent decided to cry to the head FB coach. That being the case would never have called her names much as I wanted to.

For the record, I was speaking mostly of the finished product. Test scores and the measuring sticks. But totally agreed, the process now is severely flawed. When elementary retention and ability grouping in subject areas became bad, we lost the ability to individualize content in larger settings. It's been going on long enough that it's prevalent now in the upper grades. It's an absolute mess.
People said the same thing 40 years ago. Funny how the sky is always falling, according to certain types.

Said what 40 years ago? 40 years ago schools could, and did, retain and ability group. I’m not sure what your point is. Mine was simply that schools are doing the same (maybe less) with more (tech and money). And they’re doing this because we have to cling to the premise that all are somewhat equal, which we know they aren’t.

You're exactly right. All are equal, but some are more equal than others.
