Buckle Up Webb City

Can you imagine how exciting that would make KC Class 6 football?
Just the opposite. Every school in the KC area would be playing for second place. Coach Rod puts a top 5 team on the field almost every year with an enrollment of 1200 students and a roster filled with 5’10 to 6’’1 kids weighing 160 to 210 pounds. Can you imagine what he would do if he had an enrollment over 2500 and the fastest and strongest athletes from the area moving into his district to be coaced by him? Blue Springs would be whistling zippity dooda. The rest of the area, not so much.

Serious question. Let's say JRod did the take the job. How long would it take for Blue Springs to learn how to run the veer to his expectations?
Do you think they would be successful year 1 or would it take a few years to get it down?

3-4 years if coach Corell would come out of retirement. It would take a year to teach the backs how to squat right

I would think a few years? Like Webb kids run it for years so by the time it gets to Varsity its second nature. That takes time

I remember coach Severeno being asked after the first Webb game if he had been able to run it against his defense “ If we could run it like that, WE would be running it”

There is a reason everyone isn’t doing it

Actually he and Jones would go at it again. Blue Springs vs. Liberty North would become HUGE..............

How about Fred Bouchard at Blue Springs? He beat Donohoe a few times when he was at Staley. It probably won't happen, but that would add some fun into the KC Class 6 mix.

Did Fred come back to the area? Last time I heard he moved to central Illinois.

Kelly Donahoe's 20 year career at Blue Springs. 191 wins, 53 losses. 14 conference championships, 15 District championships, 4 State Championships, 2 State Runners-up.

What's more obvious is you don't know much about Kelly Donahoe or the Blue Springs football program.
It’s true,,,you have to have kids dedicated to the program and obviously they don’t have them or they would be more successful

I doubt you see him coach in Missouri. He double dipping now. Full retirement benefits in MO while getting paid in another state.

I don't think you understand how good Rockhurst is going to be with Donahoe there..... I would bet a good amount of kids decide to transfer there from blue springs and other schools

Primary among those "other" schools are Miege and Aquinas.

Coach Rod has a 91 win % against schools his size and much larger. Never plays down a class. Imagine what his win % would be if he only played schools in his class or smaller. He is 2-0 against Rock. I’m sure Rock will be improved. Good enough for 2nd place if Rod takes the BS job. Which by the way is all I think this rumor is so you’ll never have to worry.

Coach Rod 2-4 versus Kearney.

What could Blue Springs offer John that he does not already have? He has it made were he is, his family is close by, he has a great program that for the next decade looks to be set. I mean besides more money, I don't know what could attract John to Blue Springs?

Lol. That’s all you got? In 23 years he has won more championships than not.

I just think its funny when Webbtrolls start talkin' sh*t about their record against big schools, and all that...but have a losing record to Excelsior Springs and Kearney--both Class 4. #Humblemuch?

Webbtroll? I wish my school had WC’s type of success. Some recognize it and hope to achieve it. Others would rather tear down so the hole they are standing in doesn’t look so deep.

Big City Livin'!! Probably nothing, and he probably isn't going, but they're going to ask, make him say no!

Its okay to recognize, become a bloviating windbag about things, and there will be somebody there to set you straight. I am that guy.
