Blair Oaks vs Lamar

Good I hope he goes to SEMO bc that staff will be at a bigger school in next 4 years and he can Portal with them. Isn't the whole idea of QB play to make good decisions and see open receivers and throw it to them??? Kids a winner and there is no blue and grey/rivals.24-7 sports USA combine to measure winners and the people who run them I question if they know what one looks like.
Question all you want. College coaches are going to try to get the best players they can, in order to win as many games as they can. Probably the biggest part of their job is to project which players are going to help them, both now and in the coming years. Height, frame, speed, athleticism, skills (like arm strength) all are going to figure much more into the equation than how many high school games somebody won.

Mid MO Sports Online Podcast BG recap and Lamar/BO matchup

Didn't care for Coach's backhand insult to Bowling Green's venue off the top. That's low class. It wasn’t all that long ago BO was playing in an old cow pasture. Few schools have the resources Blair Oaks has at any level of Missouri HS football, let alone in little ole NEMO. Did make up for it when talking about their team.

The two most traditional small school HS powers in Missouri? That's simply not true. #2 and #3 perhaps but even that is debatable.

Very complimentary of Lamar which was good to hear. Thanks for posting.

Who would be your top 3 small schools?

I think he said the best small school programs of the 21st century!

Sure seems like you have.
Lamar folks sure haven't. The two years we got to play them before the 14 team big 8 were awesome. I vividly remember rolling into St Genevieve in early fall and seeing the smokers rolling on the hill. My halftime trip to the facilities left me in awe standing in the trophy room. The next year when they came to Barton County, several families were parked around us tailgating, and we exchanged pleasantries before and after the game. I just remember thinking "they get it".

Unfortunately for them, they ran into a couple of our better teams in years where they weren't as competitive. I wish this event would have been able to keep going. It was fun. That trip there in '16 was a great travel warmup for our semifinal game. Kids got to have a dress rehearsal for the travel, meals, practice etc on a 5 hour road-trip.

What I'm getting at is, there's probably 8 or so teams that people could put in the top 3 for small schools. That was his opinion, just like I have one and so do others. Fun to talk about IMO! Good luck to both teams tomorrow, looking forward to it!
Recent history my opinion would be Valle Catholic, Lamar....then #3 could be multiple schools...Valle and Lamar for sure are top of the schools. Their Titles and appearances are just unmatched

Not sure even the most die hard Webbie would want to be considered a "small school" but you ever know. 🤣
Small IMO, Class 1-3. Big IMO 4-6.

Going back to the game, I think it will be a 1 score game either way. Right now I lean BO, but you never know. With Lamar being in the State finals the last 2 years, helps IMO, but they can't turn the ball over like they did last year. They do that against this offense, it spells TROUBLE!! I hope my Tigers win, but it will take a perfect game! Best of luck and safe travels to everyone going to watch games!

To be fair, the "top two" comment was made by a very enthusiastic radio guy, and not BO's Coach Lepage.
