Blair Oaks vs Lamar

If you haven't listened to Lamar's radio broadcast before you are in for a good time. Nate, Wyatt, and Michael do a great job and have fun at the same time. Too bad this is the last broadcast for the trio! Nate is stepping down after this season.
Absolutely. Wyatt is a great young man.

I'll be on the road at this time heading down to catch the 5A Mississippi final so this is perfect and much safer than reading Scorestream while driving. Thanks @503_Maple for posting the link.

This is what is so awesome about this matchup! It can be argued for days about who the better team is, and no one be wrong. Two great perennial powerhouses facing off for all the marbles. On the 10th anniversary of their last epic matchup, no less!

I remember that game in 2012 like it was yesterday. It was my first trip to the dome, hadn't made the trip the year before. Most of us in the stands were pretty high on our team to repeat and were kind of oblivious to the fact that it would even be a game. For pre-game the falcons came out in just warm-up shirts and helmets waste up, no pads or jerseys. I remember thinking and commenting on how small they looked and particularly plain size wise. We were really big that year on both fronts, and I thought we would dominate the LOS. It didn't take long after kickoff to realize we were going to have our hands full. They were excellent fundamentally and played together as a team. I think maybe we were down at halftime, and everyone was pretty worried. The seesaw battle continued into the second half until late in the fourth when Cedric Gartman was able to get two pick-sixes and secure the win. I don't think without that game we would have gone on to win 7 straight. They sure got our attention. I believe it fueled the teams the next few years to never underestimate an opponent, and take care of every manageable detail.

I haven't studied BO. I don't need to. I know they will be thoroughly prepared, extremely well coached, superbly conditioned, and have great athletes on both sides of the ball. But guess what? The same can be said for Lamar. Gosh dang this is gonna be a fun one!

I remember attending this up and down the field showcase!

True. Weather is apart of the game. As long as it’s not dangerous
I didn't mind the dome but I liked it back in the 80's when they would move the Championship games around the state for all to enjoy. I think the location should rotate or be in a central location. Weather certainly can be a factor but that is what makes football football game planning for everything.

Let's do a friendly on this one (bracing for the J Kane GIF): Picayune by 10.
Sure. You're probably right, their stud RB who's committed to Oregon is a LOAD. However they have ran up the gut all season which is West Point's strongest position group by far. Told the BIL who follows this much closer than I do they'd be wise to watch the Vicksburg film and adjust to more edge runs where they had some success and he just laughed and said they won't. I like the stubborn approach as it will make for more interesting viewing.

Something to keep in mind for the game as of Wednesday morning. The current wind situation in Columbia Mo on Friday is 19 MPH winds and 48 MPH wind gusts. Would be game effecting conditions if they hold up for Friday.

Don’t mean anything in any way by this. Just saying. These are the conditions. Thought it was interesting to mention.

I think wind like that has the potential to be a lot more disruptive than any precipitation FWIW. Would have to think wind like that would benefit Lamar, but BO would def be equipped to overcome it.

I’m genuinely asking, no disrespect attended here. But isn’t alot of their run distribution through the RPO? How effective would the run be if they can’t properly pass throughout the game? Just wondering. Lamar’s run D is pretty impressive.

A portion of it is. I think the term "RPO" is used way too loosely lol. They do a lot of jet power read and power read. With what BG did Saturday they ran a lot of QB Trap and QB Draw. If Lamar keeps Hair under 250 yards of total offense I think they win, but that's a lot easier said than done. I'm not sure they have seen a player like him this year.

Nope. We have not. But our coaches are really good at preparing, but I’m sure it will be a very tall order. It will not be easy.

Yeah, I've heard the acronym RPR used more this season in college analysis to better reflect the evolution.

No doubt about that. I know Lamar will probably have as good of a plan as anyone on stopping them.

I'm not super familiar with the BO QB, is he a senior? Is he looking for anything at the next level?

I'm really only vaguely familiar with the specifics of BO. I know much more about Lamar. Although I do know Coach LePage is a highly regarded spread practitioner though.

QB has been offered by SEMO, Northwest Missouri State, Central Missouri, Missouri Western, Pitt State and SW Baptist.
Winds are forecasted to be out of the South which is the closed end of the stadium, which may help.

Sort of crazy that this is all the offers he is accumulating (so far).

Season Stats - Passing: 2,694 Yards, 40TD, 3 INT. Rushing: 2,005 Rushing Yards, 28 TD. (7-8 of the 13 games not playing after halftime).
