Blair Oaks vs Lamar

Sort of crazy that this is all the offers he is accumulating (so far).

Against Bowling Green - 27 Carries for 272 yards. 16/26 passing for 359 yards. 7 Total Touchdowns. Blair Oaks had 72 plays for 804 yards of total offense.

Season Stats - Passing: 2,694 Yards, 40TD, 3 INT. Rushing: 2,005 Rushing Yards, 28 TD. (7-8 of the 13 games not playing after halftime).
Well he’s a senior isn’t he? I figured he would have a few big 12 offers or something.

Also holds the state record in yards. Actually shattered that record and still has 1 more game to go.

Fun fact for BO…all 4 state championships have been won wearing White uniforms. They lost in 2007 and 2012 wearing Green. Anybody know who will be home or away in this game?
Blair Oaks will be away and wearing white, Lamar home wearing black.

Went back and did some research. During Lamar's run they have won wearing black 4 times, and white 4 times. They lost their only runner-up appearance in the Show-Me Bowl in 2021 wearing white.

BO hasn't lost wearing white, Lamar hasn't lost wearing black. Again, gonna be a fun one!

Also, to expand, Lamar has lost 12 total games in the last 12 seasons. 8 of those (including the last 3) they were wearing white, 4 black.

BO guys in the know: It's your move.

Wow, that's incredible. You can't put up those types of numbers and not have legit next level talent. That reminds me of Jaelon Acklin at Liberty, who is one of the most productive players I've seen at the C2 level and he went on to be an FCS all american with stints in the NFL and a long career in the CFL.

If SEMO is the only D1 offer Hair has that's astounding to me.

To my knowledge, SEMO is his only D1 offer. Have heard there has been some more interest out there, but at the potential of WR, not QB.

No offense to SEMO, but the all time MO state record holder for total yards in a career (regardless of C1-C6) shouldn't be playing on Saturdays in Cape Girardeau.
Jaelon had to move from QB to WR to get the bigger offers. That could be a thing to consider too. I don't disagree with you on SEMO though, but despite that I wouldn't turn my nose up at playing in the OVC and the annual money game.. understand where you're coming from though.

Sounds like he hasn’t been advertised enough. Or something.

Not all great HS players are Division I scholarship athletes.

Playing QB at any of those colleges would be a BIG deal. He has been advertised plenty. Great player regardless of what college he chooses. Silly argument here.
Ughhhh how’d you get that from my comment? I’m only disappointed he’s not going even bigger. He’s earned it….. why’d ya take it personal?

Eh, ok. Well it looked like it. You claimed I was making an argument and it was silly. My only point was I’m surprised with his amazing performance at BO for his time he’s not even more regarded. That’s all. He’s got a lot of talent.

I agree with this. Any one continuing to play on Saturday's is a BIG deal.

This kid's different though. Win or lose, I hope he gets a chance to showcase that fully on Friday at 3pm.

He's been advertised plenty. Blair Oaks coaches are telling anybody and their brother who will listen about Dylan Hair.

Here's a take from a guy I know who does the college recruiting stuff and gives input to colleges, as colleges also give him input.

The consensus among Power 5 conference schools (Midwest schools) is that Dylan Hair is a lower level D1 player. Conferences ranging from OVC, Missouri Valley, to even MAC schools which is FBS. They would agree that SEMO being his only D1 offer is a little surprising but not overly surprising. The guy I know did say he thinks Dylan would end up with other D1 offers before it's all said and done.

The reasoning:
1. Many think Dylan has a limited ceiling with potential, especially at QB, as they think he will most likely need to move to receiver to get offers any higher than FCS, or more FCS offers in general. They said it's very unlikely he will get offers from any Power 5 schools either way. They said it did help that Dylan grew a couple of inches and put on some solid muscular weight in the last year or so.

2. They said Dylan is also as productive as he is due to him being in the system and offensive scheme he's in. Meaning when it comes to passing he benefits from being in an offense the creates a lot of open passes, and having good receivers who are mismatch problems for a lot of the teams Blair Oaks faces. Essentially Dylan has a lot of open receivers to throw to, and there aren't many contested throws. They said the QB's that can make those throws are a dime a dozen around the country. They said his arm strength is good not great, his accuracy is good not great. They said Dylan is special in the run game and the open field, but they also think he won't get by with that at the D1 level compared to now like he does in high school. They don't think he would be as elusive because the level of talent will be way different. They also think Dylan struggles with multiple reads and read progressions. (I'm not that well versed in this area, just mainly the basics, so can't really speak on this)

When it's all said and done, they think that he could possibly play QB at the FCS level, but that would heavily depend on the school. Other than that he will need to move to receiver if he wants more D1 offers. It's more so, he's more of a low level D1 athlete and not a QB.

Don't shoot the messenger, this is simply the information given to me. Though I will say, I agree with most of what they're saying.

Good I hope he goes to SEMO bc that staff will be at a bigger school in next 4 years and he can Portal with them. Isn't the whole idea of QB play to make good decisions and see open receivers and throw it to them??? Kids a winner and there is no blue and grey/rivals.24-7 sports USA combine to measure winners and the people who run them I question if they know what one looks like.
