I was wondering if any schools in Missouri were in a conference that had teams From out-of-state?

I was thinking if Springfield schools Decided to Create their own conference , if Pittsburg high out of Kansas who is stepping out at their conference could join a conference with Joplin Webb City Neosho Carthage etc..... This is obviously all hypothetical.

I don't see anyway possible. Kansas doesn't start practicing and playing until around 2-3 weeks after Missouri. That's a clear advantage for Missouri. If they could start on the same day I could see it but not they way things are now.

Crossroads does or at least did a few years ago. Maranatha Academy was in it with Butler, Van horn, Sherwood, Summit christian, and somebody else? maybe another?

Rockhurst recruits several states so do they count?

Good point .

Pretty hot off the press, I have heard Piitsburg (KS) petitioned MSHSAA to join the COC. Apparently MSHSAA denied the request.

Anyone else hear anything about this?

As much as I would like them (and Joplin) in the conference, it seems very unlikely since their season starts later. I don't know how that would work, and I can't see the Springfield area schools going along with that. Is the conference affiliation even administered by MSHSAA?

the pvc use to have elwood, ks in the conference then they cooped and started a new school

You can say that again.

As for starting later, it would seem that KSHSAA could allow them to start earlier, but then it would seem they wouldn't be allowed in the state playoffs later due to their earlier start. On the other hand, if in the COC and mshsaa governed, then add them to the MO playoffs. Suddenly, what a can o worms this could open. Illinois schools choosing MO, and Iowa, Arkansas, Kentucky, etc. asking mshsaa if they can too, and then mo schools wondering if they can go to a neighboring state.....

About 30 years ago, Hannibal was in a conference with Illinois schools. Northland Christian is in their first year of MSHSAA this year. All of the other schools in their conference are either non-MSHSAA Missouri schools or Kansas schools. However, they don't have a football team (yet).

And Elwood, KS was in the PVC, but they merged (not co-oped) with Wathena to form Riverside and are now in a KS conference.
