Detroit, Atlanta, Minneapolis, LA, Philly all these cities could have banned chokeholds. They could have increased the police reporting themselves and more data information themselves. They could have instituted more de-escalation training. All of these communities have been run by DEMOCRATS for decades!
THE POOREST PEOPLE IN THE NATION is not being served by the Democrats.

Well, you and your pals like to keep pointing out that our major cities are run by dems, they have elections in those cities. Offer better candidates and policies, win elections, and pubs can come to the rescue!! Stop blaming dems because pubs can't win an election in the cities.

People who live in major cities are of the same political philosophy as Duck (or even farther left) and are about as smart as you and 3R.

You could run the perfect conservative candidate in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, DC, Atlanta, and they'll still lose because you have a politically and historically illiterate populace (thanks public education) who doesn't know or care about the issues or policy, they're just going to vote for the person with D behind their name because that's what's always been done.

So if you live in a city, you are inherently illiterate. Now there a sound argument!! And Billy Bubba Joe Bob from Possum Hollow is a freakin' genius.

Rep...don't offer Free crap on other peoples labor and sweat....Hard to beat free and more. I am always amazed at how easily the Masses swallow the propaganda from the Left. Steal from the Rich and Give to the Lazy...It's like the Thomas Sowell quote...I've never understood why it's greed to want to keep the money you have earned but not greed to take somebody's else's money.

How can the Rep. compete with the Pusher Dem's when they have so many tax dollar junkies just begging for more.

Pretty hard to win in some of these Dem cities whenever they offer to put up the homeless people in hotels and have room service of drugs and alcohol for them.

Free hotel? Free booze? Heck yeah I’ll vote for ya!

Pre covid, 25 million white Americans were receiving welfare, compared to 18 million hispanics and 11 million blacks. 35 million white Americans receive some sort of government assistance. But that doesn't fit the right's racist narrative that welfare is for the lazy, drug addicted inner city blacks. I guess it's OK for Billy Bubba Methhead in Podunk, Missouri as long as he votes Rep.

White Americans- 60.4% of the US population
Hispanics/Latinos- 18.3%
African American- 13.4%

Do you want to delete your post or just going to ignore me?

Strawman.

No one said white people don't receive welfare. If you look at population this makes perfect sense white people make up approximately 60% of the population, hispanics (that we can account for) make up 18%, blacks make up 13%. Your numbers, while irrelevant to the discussion are a fairly representative sample of what would be expected.

If we're going to get off on that tangent, make no mistake, I personally hope we eventually get leadership with the stones to eliminate all welfare programs.

I never said the % of welfare recipients correlated to the general population. Just pointing out that millions more whites are on welfare than other ethnic groups.

Why is that? What was the point? That wasn't the argument. No one specifically said welfare but that's what you decided to jump on.

Easier to beat up on a strawman than actually have to debate a person.

35,000,000 / 197,181,177 = 18% of white people on welfare.

18,000,000 / 60,000,000 = 30% of hispanic Americans on welfare

11,000,000 / 48,000,000 = 23% of black people on welfare

See it's all in presentation. If you just give raw numbers, yeah that looks bad, but when you look at percentages of people on welfare by race it kind of undermines your point doesn't it? Which is why you chose to just give a giant number which is supposed to "prove" white people are lazy. When in fact it just shows there are a lot more white people.

But you knew that. I might as well call you CNN the way you try to distort facts to fit your narrative.

The great Blue problem solvers have spent billions.

But all the right ever talks about with welfare is the lazy black drug addicts in the inner city.

Have you heard ANYONE on this message board use any of those phrases or make that assumption? If so, please go find it.

We've discussed at length how the majority of problems you see on CNN consistently come from cities that are historically led by Democrats, but no one has said ANYTHING about ANY race specifically being lazy or addicted to drugs. Those are YOUR words and YOUR assumptions.

I think you're showing us who the real racist on this board is in your attempt to stick words in our mouths.

You and your pals make daily assumptions about all dems. Good for the goose, good for the gander!!

Besides on here, I don't stereotype all reps when talking among friends, but it's dang near impossible on here where tribalism is rampant. All I see on here is crap like Dems support rioting, dems support defund the police, dems support open borders, and on and on with ridiculous statements that the vast majority of dems actually oppose. I don't agree with everything dem or rep. God forbid any of you disagree with anything trumpy says.

Take the "statue" issue right now and you trumpers' assumption that all dems favor tearing down our historic statues. I would bet anything that the vast majority of dems would favor leaving the statues that are symbols of America history alone. Personally, I never understood the Confederate statues - they were the freakin' enemy and should come down. And I always thought they were racist symbols since they honored the defenders of slavery.

Washington, Jefferson, well those earlier slave owners were in a different time period when slavery was legal in practically the entire civilized world and accepted by most. Many of the forefathers knew slavery was a sin against man, and knew we were just avoiding the eventual national showdown on slavery. But by the time of the Civil War, most of Europe and other places had abolished slavery. The Confederates were on the wrong side of history in 1860 and should not be honored with statues on public grounds. If they want them out front of the private Moose Lodge, that's their business.

The difference being, the things we make generalization about are typically things you either support or are unwilling to denounce.

If I ever saw someone on here talking about "lazy inner city blacks on drugs and welfare" I'd be quick to call that out.

I can't say "every" liberal is racist. But I'm starting to believe you are.

Let me guess, you have a black friend...

Bump for our resident left-leaning forum friends to watch these 2 vids and clear the crickets out of this thread.

I would sure like to hear what they think about them, I know I learned a lot.

The reply will be along the lines of “What have you done for me lately” or “Old news bruh”
Or party switch which could be an ongoing debate.

From what I read a lot of people give credit to the party switch movement to LBJ but again from what I read I think it was probably FDR.

You had it right the first time.
“the party switch was more a consequence of the impact of the Great Depression and the appeal of FDR’s New Deal than it was a consequence of LBJ’s civil rights legislation. It is also incorrect that white southern Democrats switched party affiliation to Republican in a fell swoop. Older white southern Democrats, in particular, remained Democrats as a rule into the 80s and early 90s. Republicans did not win a majority of congressional seats in the South until as late as 1994.”

How did you make this a racial thing? The lazy irresponsible and shiftless come in all Colors, sizes and shapes. You seemed obsessed with Race...only one race the human race. You tend to some how correlate certain undesirable traits to a certain demographic when no specific race, religion or gender is even mentioned. Maybe you should do some soul searching in that regard.

I think where you are in error is that the Dem party you knew and probably the Dem party affiliates you have contact with are being co-op by the radicals. Also Slavery was legal until Lincoln put a end to it. As as the Statues go. I could careless as long as they don't destroy them, remove them in a legal process or by vote etc.

I've pointed out a lot how Trump is bombastic and Dbag...but clearly Most Dem's have some personal issue with Trump and go into full meltdown with anything he does. Of course most Rep. would love it if he got off twitter and stopped trolling the Left for the most part. Clearly the MSM hasn't given him a Fair shake either and it's clearly obvious...so this has created a bigger divide. So even those who can hardly stand Trumps outlandish behavior are now rallying to his side.

The meltdowns you speak of are because the things he does are in the thousands. One or two can be over looked, but day after day, after day, after day, after day, after day, after day, gets old. I get tired of people saying he doesn't get a fair shake. That's not a presidential perk. He spends hours watching tv, playing golf and tweeting. There is no telling what he could do if he didn't think everything is played for his base and only his (shrinking base).
