I don't stay in hotels/motels a lot but I haven't stayed in one for several years that did NOT asked for my drivers license and make a copy of it.

I can tell you on my last work trip all I gave them was my CC.

I've stayed in 5 hotels in the past two weeks. None of them made me show my ID.

This is what you should be looking at.

The core problem is that you'd have to be an idiot to steal an election by sending actual voters to the polls to pretend to be someone else. There's easier ways to commit fraud.

The bottom line. Voter fraud isn't a big issue. The only reason to restrict voting is to restrict voting.
